Liam was the one with the foresight that time. And just for shits and giggles, here's 42-year-old Noel on stage, playing good ol' Roll With It:

Pete Townshend wrote this line in 60's:
"I hope I die before I get old"
and he's still playing this song in his old days.

The Gallagher’s and their endless rhetorical questions. Love it.

Read this book the other day and I thought it was brilliant. Noel is always spouting this shit, though. He said something similar about not doing it at 50... won't be long until he claims he won't do it at 60, either.

I still hold the belief that Noel will not reunite Oasis in his 60s.
The clock is most certainly ticking.

I know this wasn’t the main point of the thread, but watching that video now, 2009 was not a great year for Roll With It (nice though it was to have it back). I’m all for trying new ideas live, but skipping most of the backing vox and playing a worse version of the guitar line doesn’t really qualify as a new idea.

I actually like the 2009 version of Roll With It more. The backing vocals of that song are very cheesy.

I was reading old interviews, and Noel thought the success would last 5-6 years, so they wanted to make the most of it. After Oasis, Noel said he "might start a label, start a band that I write the songs for but I'm not in. Write some songs that Oasis couldn't do you know, for people like Rod Stewart."

It's bizarre how so many great things had a lifespan of around 6-7 years. Oasis (mk 1) The Beatles Star Wars (the original trilogy) Nintendo 64 The Simpsons (maybe a tad longer? the cracks appeared by series 8/9)

He literally says ´nor will I'. This forum never ceases to amaze me. Man, if people had recorded things I said when I was off my face in my mid/early 20s, and then held me to account for it 20 years later, well, I'd probably think they're a bit sad and didn't enjoy their youth enough.

It's quite amazing how someone can share a rather heartwarming moment between two notoriously contentious people, and you still find a way to shit all over it. Does it take a lot of work to be that miserable, or does it come naturally to you?

They've toured like 7 times since then. I saw them on Quadrophenia tour 5 years ago. It was quite special to hear the entire album live, but I didn't bother to see them again when they played here again a couple of years ago.

To be fair to him, between occasionally writing songs I’m pretty sure Noel finds the time to sit around watching TV getting fat, so he was partly right. X

To be fair to Liam, he didn't perform "Roll With It" at 40. He did, however perform it at 42. Best kind of correct is technically correct!
