Now, we’re all aware of whom Noel Gallagher is right? But are we aware what he really did on the song “Columbia”?
Liam and Chris Griffiths wrote the lyrics did they not? Bonehead came up with the riff, which is the same one at the beginning of snakebite, did he not? The rest of the song is “Axe Corner” by Tortuga is it not? So what is Noel’s role in all this? Apart from reaping the rewards of seeds others had sown?
Sure, his “yeah yeah yeahs” bring a certain joie de vivre to the occasion and he’s added the extra guitar bit here and there on live shows, but how Noel Gallagher can sleep at night knowing his name is solely credited for Columbia is beyond me
Haters will say it’s fake, but all this confusion surrounding this song? Nothing really is the same to me.

Has any of that ever been acknowledged by the people involved? Serious inquiry.

I don't think Noel has ever refuted any of this. He's pretty open about his best asset as a songwriter being his ability to cobble together bits from various sources and turning them into stellar tunes. This is no different.

I feel like Liam would have brought this up at some point in the last 9 years if it were true (unless he's forgotten).
If Noel admitted to this though he would open himself up to litigation from Liam & Chris Griffiths, so obviously he won't.

What I don't get about accusations like these is why didn't anyone speak up at the time? Anyone can claim anything at this point.

New to this group, so go easy on me.
Chris and The Real People have been claiming this for many years and even went to court over one song (can’t remember which one). In Tony McCarroll book I believe he also confirms this. If you listen to the oasis podcast, there is a cracking episode with the real people and discussing there relationship with oasis.

Pretty sure it was Rockin' Chair they sued Oasis over. I think the story with Columbia was that it was a joint effort. The Real People (rightly) wanted a co-credit, but didn't get it.

Bonehead should arguably be credited for Up in the Sky too.

Bonehead should arguably be credited for Up in the Sky too. Agh, got confused. I believe the Real People we’re involved in the first album than ever given credit for.
