I love everything they’ve put out so I’m not sure what my actual favourite is, but heart shaped box opened my eyes to how good the band were so I’d probs go with that

It’s not their song, but the guitar solo in The Man Who Sold the World that Kurt played on MTV Unplugged is so eerie, it gives me the creeps every time I hear it (in a good way!) It sounds apocalyptic (which I guess the Nirvana world was at the time)

As D-7 sadly is a cover, I'll go with Heart-shaped box. I was addicted to that song (and the very disturbing video) and that was when I finally really got into nirvana.

I've always been a big fan of Aneurysm, great b-side. Might be my favourite song.
I like all the big hits so cba to list them but these great as well:
Lounge Act Drain You Serve The Servants Spank Thru (Live at Reading) Blew

Smells Like Teen Spirit was like a reaper. It cleared out all the cheesy metal bands and power pop of the late 80s, very early 90s in one full swoop. It was rather break taking when looking back. The power of that one song and video. A proper cleansing.

Might be predictable, but I'll go with Smells like teen spirit as well. It's the obvious answer and it isn't their signature song for nothing. Fantastic.

For a short lived band they have many classic songs, I'll go with Come as You Are, it was the song which grabbed me by the ears.

I mean they do have their own version of the Masterplan (Incesticide). Not much more you could ask from a band that really only were a global phenomenon between very late 1991 and April 1994

Not much more you could ask from a band that really only were a global phenomenon between very late 1991 and April 1994 I wouldn't say it is their Masterplan because a solid portion of the album is covers or alternate versions. Only counting Nevermind era tracks, non-album songs amount to six. Oasis had twelve non-cover/alternate version, B-sides during the Morning Glory era released alone. Basically a double album. Kurt apparently had alot of unreleased songs between Nevermind and In Utero that I wish he could've made b-sides.

Doesn’t mean it’s gonna be a carbon copy. Especially since it predates The Masterplan by 6 years.
