In a Dig Out Your Soul mood today, watching interviews and such, in one part the band quickly talk about how this was "An easy record to make." "The first 2 (Heathen Chemistry & Don't Believe The Truth) were a lot more difficult-this was an easy one." - Andy "This was the easiest album we ever made I think. Sort of just happened." - Liam "We were-as Noel says-'due an easy one.'" - Gem "I feel like a mug really for co-producing all those records myself. You just write the songs and he says whether he likes it or not and then you argue about it-then you realize I was right and crack on." - Noel The recording of the album took place from August to December even with some breaks which is pretty average looking at all the other albums recording times. This is a bit unfair of a comparison maybe because Definitely Maybe was their debut album compared to their 7th album along with other factors but that took them a lot of effort to get right as we seen in the Supersonic doc and many other places. I'm sure none of us have made records to that scale but the whole thing I'm going for is does more effort mean better quality? I know Who Built The Moon is very love it or hate it here, Noels said it took a lot of time to do over a lot of intermittents, but I don't think we'll learn how much time that added up to be in total. Or is it all just down to having good tunes, being in your prime? Like Morning Glory which took mere weeks to record. Or is this all pointless and good albums are good and bad albums are bad.
