It was an Oasis tradition to fuck up at big televised events. It's actually part of what I loved about Oasis, there was always that sense of unpredictability and lack of polish. Liam still has that edge. Even though he was clearly knackered he still commanded the stage and gave it more heart than anyone so he gets a free pass from me all day long.

I noticed him chatting to the sound guy a couple of times (I know this is a regular thing but still) which might have been part of the problem.

I’m critical and think he sounds just fine on that CA video. Still Much better than DOYS and yeah little more grainy than when he first came back but like pple said that’s expected. Sounded great in Central Park at the show and on YouTube clips is always alittle worse than when ur there. Liam is not a straight to soundboard singer he is meant to be heard in person it’s his voice in the room with the music that really makes him what he is

When Liam is on stage you get the sense that anything could happen. And if you blink you might miss something! How many artists touring today can you say that about? Not too many.

And once again, all that matters is how it is to fans at the gig. Nobody gives a shit if someone watching a youtube video thinks the voice is shit if the people that pay to go have a good time.

I think the only shit thing about this gig that needs discussing is Jay’s inability this far on. C&A intro was disgusting

1 It hasn't. 2. What is consistent is Liam sounds much better live when you attend the gig than what he does when you listen back or watch on tv

At this particular gig he was dreadful, yes. No need for people to get all hysterical over someone saying he sounds bad here. He did.
He had an off day. Everyone has them. Liam, Noel, everyone. It's a shame it had to happen on a big show that can be seen worldwide, but he's also proven to be awesome live at other occasions.
When I saw him he sounded great. Finished sentences, hit all the notes. Great. I'll give him a pass for one bad gig. No need to get all worked up and make a thread.

Liam's voice is good. The current problem is the technicians of the sounds that have increase the volume of the instruments and lowered the volume of the voice (especially in the last concerts) straining the voice of Liam

I’d much prefer that Oasis and Liam wasn’t like that. I wish Liam didn’t blow off MTV Unplugged. At the time that was a huge deal and a big honor to nab one of those coveted spots. Oasis should have crushed that performance. Instead it is viewed as a big missed opportunity for the band, especially stateside. Less than a month later Liam again acted like and idiot at the MTV VMAs, another big honor and opportunity to perform. Oasis walked away from that like drunk buffoons. Giving Oasis the start of a negative reputation in America. People forget it wasn’t always like that here. It wasn’t until the fall of 1996 that media and the masses would begin to turn away. That 1-2 punch did them no favors at all. I wish Oasis played it straight for both of these instances.

He has teenagers - he probably does a lot of yelling when he's not on stage.
But seriously, he's been singing most of his life. Would you rather hear him lip-sync on stage and sound 100% like the recorded album, or would you rather actually hear him actually perform his songs? Personally, I'd rather hear him, and not something recorded if I've paid a ticket to see him live.

Stop judging from youtube video, but go to see the man self. You know, I’m not sure I ever actually heard Liam sing all those times I saw Oasis live :-) Should have go to the Beady Eye gig.
