Lame winner, but great voting system! Great winner. One of the few who wrote their own stuff and could actually sing.

Lame winner, but great voting system! Great winner. One of the few who wrote their own stuff and could actually sing. Just found it boring tbh. Not bad, but no winner. I guess I most rooted for Australia, but of those with a chance winning in the end I guess I didn't feel too strongly about the outcome. But once again, the new voting system was A M A Z I N G!

I'm glad a rock song won, but they're almost like a parody.
I was rooting for Iceland btw.
So proud of how the Netherlands, my own little country, made this show under these circumstances.

Two weeks late, but just a reminder that the new voting system is among the most thrilling things in the world. Decrease the number of songs in the final, make the voting process even longer <3
And oh, please dare to have some fun next year Sweden. "Our" problem is that since the last 10 years or so we take this competition waaay too seriously. If it's not top 5 in the final then it's a disaster, so let's play it safe every time. Some funk or RnB once in a while, but always sticking to the safe pop formula. We have completely missed what is the point of Eurovision, and it's a bit frustrating to see.

I believe that's a problem with a lot of countries, they're just bringing some shitty pop more often than not sung in english knowing the formula that bring you points most of the times, while I think Eurovision should be about showing something embedded in your pop culture to the rest of Europe, I'm seeing a lot of love for Ukraine lately and in my opinion that's because, besides the song being actually good, they totally got the real meaning of the competition

I thought Sweden was really weak this year. In fact, I think they've been going downhill for a couple of years now. Songs like Euphoria and Heroes were really good and memorable, they still get airplay on the radio too. The songs you've been sending for the past few years don't really have that. Oh and I also really liked Ukraine. My friend and I have been vibing to it a lot.

The Balkans and the eastern countries know this better than others, even if they have a fairly standard pop song they will often throw in some local dance moves during the instrumental break.

For some nice cringe on a Sunday morning, check out the song we sent 10 years ago.

Ukraine is also good and interesting so it won't be all about politics if they win. But I still think that they don't deserve it.
Don't know much about other songs, I only heard Slovenians once on radio and they are actually not bad, cute funk indie teenage band

It should be good, but the reputation of it amongst folk in the UK is a complete joke. But that's not the fault of other countries but our own atrocious entries which literally deserves this entire country every bit of hate it deserves.

The likelihood of Sweden ever sending a song like Norway's to the competition is lower than the likelihood of Sweden invading Russia. All other countries decide to have some fun every now and then, Sweden are too anxious to not take it 100% serious every damn time. Like an insecure adult playing football against children, not holding back even a little when going for sliding tackles.
Like matt says, it's the opposite with the UK though. The one approach worse than trying too hard, which is not trying at all.

Sounded nice, but too stiff and not very special. I'm glad Albania didn't go through. God that was A LOT. So what did you all think of the first semi finals?
