Is this the film where we will see Liam say "Ok, i'll take this one" after his songwriters showed him what they came up with, and then they call that songwriting ? Should be a very interesting one and half hour. Nevermind the fact that he wrote 8 of the 15 tracks on his own.... isnt that the point tho? time to ditch the writers and do your own thing...

Good Lord no, I really like As You Were and he had a few really decent tunes he wrote but without the other songs, things like Eh La and the other bonus tracks would've made the album and it would have been utterly horrendous. He's doing exactly the right thing.

While cabable of writing some decent stuff he is clearly not a prolific songwriter. He just doesn’t write enough. In a more ideal world he’ll take an albums worth of songs to a songwriter to work on and work on them. Would you have a dig at Elvia about it though? Nah

I have no problems at all with him working with people. Even if all the songs were written by others but they were exceptional quality with Liam’s voice why the hell not?
But it just so happens that Liam wrote the majority of the songs on the first album so I don’t know why people have an issue with it. I think if he wrote an entire album himself it wouldn’t have the same feel to it even if the songs were as good because I’m sure the other professional song writers would give their opinion on how to tweak them and improve them etc ultimately he’s making the right choice and fuck the people who think otherwise

Nah how is me saying liam could write an album, having a dig at liam? im not 'anti-songwriting team'. im just 'pro-liam writing'. elvis was what he was, but it would be true to say he couldnt write an album. is that a dig at elvis? are truths now considered attacks? plus it goes against liam's image. hes a rock'n'roll star, without a band, who went corporate, and is singing tunes written by pop song writers. now thats a dig...but only in jest. i dont really care how liam does his thing.

I’m just saying that Liam isn’t a songwriter or artist in the same way Weller or someone is. He’s a performer, front man who writes a little bit. Like you, i’d Love to see him do a whole record one day but for now he’s just got to get people involved and if that means songwriters, writing his singles especially I’m ok with that.

All jokes aside, I think it would be fascinating to see him and the songwriters 'co-writing' in the film. Always wondered what Liam co-writing would look like. Whether it's him just changing the odd word or melody, or actually changing whole verses etc.

I wouldn't say all of the 8 tracks he has sole writing credit are the best off the record, Bold, Greedy Soul and I've All I Need are certainly in my top 5.
If he can come up with a few more that are of that caliber I will certainly be a happy camper.

Whether it's him just changing the odd word or melody, or actually changing whole verses etc. I imagine it being a mix between Liam making minor changes to songs he's given and him offering up half-written songs and fucking off to the pub while the writers finish them.

Wouldn’t mind hearing a Liam album done ‘live’ with limited overdubs - the Greedy Soul performance at AIR Studios (I think?) is probably the best live performance I’ve seen from him in years and years.

"LIAM GALLAGHER: AS IT WAS tells the honest and emotional story of how one of the most electrifying rock frontmen went from the dizzying heights of his champagne supernova years in Oasis to living on the edge, ostracised and lost in the musical wilderness of booze, notoriety and bitter legal battles.
Starting again alone, stripped bare and with nowhere to hide, Liam risks everything to make the greatest rock’n’roll comeback of all time.
Directors Charlie Lightening and Gavin Fitzgerald invite us backstage for a no-holds-barred look at the life of one of the most talked-about and charismatic artists of his generation. "
