I'm unable to go to the Manchester gig next week so am giving my tickets to a mate. Are they checking that names match those that are printed on the tickets?
Thanks

Yes, I think so. I think you do need to show your ID at entrance.

I presume it will vary depending on the venue.
I'd guess at the Manchester one being strict because the whole entry process is going in there now.

Cheers for the replies.
Has anyone to a uk arena and had a check though?
I've noticed they usually say that, but then don't check. Even at Liam's first show at the Ritz in Manchester after the recent attack I didn't get ID'd.
Thanks.

Checked in Aberdeen last night weren't worried about photo ID as long as you had something with your name on it like a credit card they were happy enough.

Thanks Same with me - I bought my mate’s tickets on Twickets in what was a comical procedure over WhatsApp audio (“they’re live... NOW!”). But I have confirmation email of transferral and I have to bring that and the original tickets with his name. A faff but good to see the touting finally being addressed.

What procedure did you have to do? Did the person who was the original lead booker have to do anything? If they didn't I don't see how it could stop touting because people with touted tickets would just do that twicket thing?

I also find it amusing that Noel has introduced this ticket name check thing when his mate Skully is often seen outside grafting tickets, presumably supplied by Noel.

The lead booker had to list them as normal.
I simply bought them and had to specify myself as the new “lead booker”.
I have his original tickets and now the confirmation of transferral email.
Why does it limit touting? As you can’t sell for over face value - Twickets have a person to look at each listing. Touts can’t buy for £50 and sell for £200 on Twickets.

I highly doubt Noel (personally) has anything to do with this. He'll 100% know about it. He may well know about it, but it won't be him making the decision. It'll be his management and the promoters/arenas. The real answer to stop touting is to crack down on the ticket websites which set the bots that swipe them all up, but they aren't going to do that any time soon, so this probably is the best alternative.

Sorry I thought you meant Noel wouldn't know anything about his mate grafting. Yeah the whole name on tickets thing would have been decided by his management etc.
