Not even close to his best, but lets face it he set a pretty fucking high bar with Oasis' first 2 albums and b-sides.

Noel's song writing has changed over time - yes, he keeps the same structure for the most part - but I think he really re-found himself with DBTT. I maintain that DBTT was pivotal for Oasis and especially Noel.

I maintain that DBTT was pivotal for Oasis and especially Noel. DBTT/DOYS/NGHFB really are a trilogy of sorts, where Noel’s songs are concerned. He found a sound he liked and explored it thoroughly... and while I like a lot of the songs which came out of it, I’m glad the through-line of Mucky Fingers/Waiting For The Rapture/Dream On didn’t continue into Chasing Yesterday and WBTM.
