This isn’t an LG gig, it’s an Oasis gig. And it has been for the entire tour. 8 out of 13 songs are Oasis. 61% Oasis. I actually think Liam is auditioning for a reunion. Not only is he guaging the demand for Oasis, he is more importantly broadcasting to brother Noel what his voice can do now after the steady decline of the late 00s. Just reform the band for fuck’s sake. Both brothers clearly want it - Noel brought back Gem and Chris for crying out loud. It’s ridiculous at this point. And yes, this is a serious topic.

You may be right, but I'm stuck on the fact that he did 16 songs. We only got 14 when I saw him in Minneapolis back at Thanksgiving!

I think Liam is just doing what he thinks will get the best reaction while still keeping his newer stuff in there. He isn't silly enough to think that people are just there for his new stuff and a lot of people come to see the Oasis tunes. Oasis ain't getting back together any time soon.

I'll buy you all a beer when Oasis reforms in a few years. It'll cost me thousands of dollars, but it'll be worth it. *can't wait*

Liam played a lot more from AYW on the UK leg of the tour. Just checked the Cardiff gig I was at and 8/19 were from AYW. 8/15 in the main set were AYW with the 4 encore songs Oasis.
IMO that balance for a debut solo record when he hasn't sung Oasis songs in 8 or so years was right. It's bound to be more Oasis loaded in South America or festival gigs.

He probably picked a setlist to please the festival crowd after recent cancellations, he usually plays more from AYW.
It's time to stop going on about a reunion...

I must admit I did start to think he was auditioning when he started doing the A Capella performances.
Imo this was clearly just an attempt to show off his improved voice to Noel. Particularly when he chose to do DLBIA - what better way to make sure Noel watches the performance?

*long exhale* More on an Oasis reunion...
I'm sure at some point down the road they'll play together again, whether a full-on reunion or just share the stage for a few songs. When it does happen they won't drop little clues or hints, it won't be some cryptic announcement, no well-timed repaired relationship lunch date photos... it'll just happen. When they're both ready and feel they've gotten what they wanted from their solo projects. Frankly, I've given up on worrying about a reunion and am enjoying the output from both of them. They're happy, and they're doing what THEY want to do. Why hope for a reunion if they're not fully ready, or still sour?
In regards to these sets, Liam is a bit looser live. He knows what a lot of the fans want, and he still has a blast playing Oasis tunes so he pulls a bit more from the past. Noel's set on the other hand is planned out and prearranged. Noel is relying a bit more on his solo output than Oasis tunes to sell tickets.

The Sun should hire you Beady. The sun will shine on me again, Oasis will sound in my head, and it’ll be like brand new.

I called it six years ago.
Critical thinking is about noticing patterns and making deductions. Oasis don’t reform without LG’s impeccable solo career.

Liam's solo career was fantastic and I've got a lot of great memories from it, I'm sure Liam's done well out of it financially to live a nice comfortable London life but the whole thing was designed to show Noel he had matured and that he had a team of people around him set up to get the best out of him. He kept the Oasis flame alive and now it's paid off for him. Let's hope the two of them can build a cordial working relationship to build on for the future. Everyone has got their band back.
