England captain Jonny Wilkinson has suffered another setback after being taken off injured during Newcastle's 23-39 loss against Harlequins. Wilkinson left the field on 34 minutes at The Stoop after injuring the same left knee that has kept him out of action for the last two months. The Falcons fly-half had kicked two penalties and a conversion before being injured trying to tackle Ceri Jones. He will undergo a scan on Monday to assess the extent of the injury. He took his place on the bench when he came off but at half-time, he had to be helped to the temporary changing rooms. Wilkinson was not originally named in the starting line-up for the game but came into the side after the late withdrawal of full-back Joe Shaw and Dave Walder moved from number 10. It is the latest in a long line of injuries he has suffered since the 2003 World Cup final. He has not played international rugby since kicking the winning drop goal for England on that dramatic night in Sydney. And it is doubtful whether he will be fit for the British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand this summer.

Larsson moved on. Adams retired, as did Cantona, so did Keith Wood. it's different.

but relly its like looked on by some people as the reason of englands undoing, he wasnt at last years six nations , were england werent awful granted they were beat but werent awful , but this year because of just how bad they are some poeple are using it as an excuse, and it really dosent matter that those people retaiered , but that they left a huge void in their team, in the same maor that JW has left a void in the england team, i think the fly half at the minute for england is just simply far too slow to plat international rugby in that postition , but i dont think that if JW was bk all the problems would be solved , i think woodword was an arsehole but he was a great coach without a doubt and was repectful of the game , i think englands coach at this time is in the wrong job

i see your point.
i think CH is a good enough player, just his kicking lets him down. and i think Robbo is the right man for the job. there is no-one else.
if CH was fly half in the world cup and not JW, we would not have won. we've lost a lot of matches since November 22nd 2003, Jonny hasn't played in any of them. some of the matches, he wouldn't have made much difference, but in the others, we've been losing by 5 points, 2 points, 1 point. CH missed a few kicks. Jonny wouldn't have.
that's why us English miss him so much.
there is such a fine line between winning and losing. Jonny is that line. he's proved it.
