It has that dreary production and low energy that people hate of Sunday Morning Call.
But fuck me, it has that majestic chorus that Noel is so fucking good at.
This is a SOTSOG-era song, right? I'd love to have it on SOTSOG but the trio of WDIAGW-SMC-JGO are way too similar and would make it a Noel solo album (!).
Show it some love! Personally, the chorus does make it a solid b-side.

When they were recording Heathen, I thought it would be cool if Noel reworked his slower demo into a punk rocker like "Fade Away". The War Child version is a simple strum and the proper b-side is a punk anthem. IDK, could have been cool.

Not sure it would have worked with this one though, as the lyrics/subject matter kind of suit a slow ballady type. I really like it. It's not one I instantly think of but if it ever comes on shuffle it gets a full listen, and it's enjoyable. Love playing it. Was one of the first songs I learnt pretty much by ear, so appreciate it more since then, probably.

I actually really love this song. The lyrics genuinely connect with me if I'm ever feeling a bit stressed and I kind of feel in a way this is Noels little gift from that era. After the highs of Be Here Now this feels like the comedown. Great tune.

The older you get, the more the lyrics make sense...

The older you get, the more the lyrics make sense... It’s the very antithesis of Stay Young.
