Just wondering if anyone is planning on braving the cold Saturday before the show. I was hoping to be down there around 2:30 to catch him before/after soundcheck.

It's going to be 41 degrees that day. Not too cold! I'll be there for sure to hopefully get my copy of WBTM signed!

I don't get to town until about 4:30, so sadly not.

Is 2:30 the typical time Noel arrives for soundcheck?

That's the time I was planning on getting, or a little before. Unless it's pouring...

Sometimes I forget how massive the Chicago Theater is.
Still utterly shocked that Noel booked it!

Just got back from the show and had a great time. Just one thing:
I'm glad Gem is back. He's so much better than Tim Smith. That being said, he looks miserable onstage. Looks bored, never smiles or shows any excitement, and didn't make eye contact with Noel or the crowd the whole show. What's wrong with him? Seems like he doesn't wanna be there.

He did an interview last year where he says since the head injury he does sometimes find it difficult to fully focus during gigs. Everything seems to indicate he's just fine but on stage he's a but muted as he's concentrating a lot on getting it right. It could be that.

Fantastic show. No screen this time. Also no Black and White Sunshine for some reason. But the band were on fire, Noel was singing great, the new stuff went down well... couldn’t ask for anything more, really. Fort Knox is an incredibly effective opener, and The Right Stuff is surprisingly good live.

Bummer about Black & White Sunshine getting the boot. It was a highlight of the NYC show.

Last night was fantastic!
I got this ticket as an early birthday present. I knew someone who worked at Chicago theater so I got moved up a little, got some drink comps, got a copy of the setlist, and got my WBTM vinyl signed.
Best of all, Noel and the band sounded great. They were on fire from the first note to the end. Holy Mountain was a highlight for me. Same with the Right Stuff and Careful What You Wish For. You can tell, particularly on the last two songs, how much the musicianship of Noel's band has increased. I was surprised to see how many people love Dream On and If I Had A Gun. I finally saw why both were in the setlist.
One minor quibble I have. Go Let it Out sounds much better than the first time he played it, but the bridge still sounds messy. There's not enough room for Gem's guitar to breath. It feels like the length of the bridge might have been shorten.
Was also surprised to see how full the Chicago Theater was! The previous times Noel's played Chicago, he's played at the Riv (Liam played there his last solo show too). That fits 2500. And I always got the impression that Noel rarely sold it out (usually 90-95% full). I was really worried when he announced the Chicago Theater, whose capacity is around 3600. To my amazement, it was conservatively around 90-95% full, even with the VIP packages.
All around brilliant day!

What a treat We, Gallagher fans have now. Both brothers released (new) solo albums and on the road on each own in two continents at same time. We couldn't have imagined this a year ago. Life is brilliant.

An incredible show. First time having the chance to see any oasis member play live (finally!). I was a bit concerned with "Go Let it Out" (from previous comments) but man, they hit it home. His vocals were top notch on that song; honestly, don't know what all the negative feedback/fuss about the acoustic rendition. As for the new songs, not as enjoyable compared to the album but I was expecting that. Let's see: If I had a gun was a major success for me. Sounded a lot better live than on the record. A lot to take in, though, I'm sure I'm missing a lot of highlights of the show!

-Band sounded great. He's really letting them shine on The Right Stuff which sounds excellent live. -Good to have gem back but I will agree he looks a bit bored. -VIP packages are dumb but hey, if you want good seats you gotta bite the bullet. -Chicago Theatre is massive and it was nearly all the way full. Couldn't believe it! -B&WS was axed for Half the World Away because a friend of Sara's was at the show. Happy wife... -Got some of the tracks from Pauls Smith's DJ set. Will post soon.

Hate to be the Party pooper but the structure of the setlist leaves a lot to be desired.
Booking these large venues and playing 4 WBTM Tracks and 9 non oasis Songs upfront has to be a mistake imho. Imho the Show was devoid of Energy until at least IIHAG. Even Noel seemed to be annoyed at the lack of reaction for Holy Mountain.
Surprisingly the highlights for me were the older NGHFB tracks, especially Dream on and what a life.
With that being said, Noel is in superb form.
Anyone else thought that wonderwall (Ryan Adams version) seemed to be out of place?
Gotta admit though. This show marked the first time that I longed for an oasis reunion.

Wile I do agree Noel is pretty lazy with his setlists, I think there is something to be said about not playing any Oasis stuff until halfway through the show. It really says a lot about the success of his solo career. You don't see Liam opening up the show with new stuff yet.

I really hate this set list. It’s just fucking boring. Wonderwall Ryan Adams version sucks, and so does don’t look back in anger modern. I was most excited about go let it out, and even it fell flat. I wish the oasis tracks were his best b sides, not little by little, and I honestly would love to hear some more first NGHFB tracks other than WAL and Dream On at this point. Death of you and me would be better than dream on by far. Stranded on the wrong beach would be fun too. Just give me some actual rock songs. He definitely knows how to turn off his previous core fan base.

And didn’t seem to impact the energy in Chicago (from my spot at least).
