For example, I was born in 1987 but I'm very much a 90s child.
I was too young to be identified with the 80s. So my childhood was the 90s - the best decade!
I expect the results to be heavily 1990s.

2000s. I wasn't alive in the 90s but I reckon that at least the first half of the 2000s was still pretty cool, I have some nice childhood memories from that time. Of course, (music) culture was going downhill already but there were odd things going on in every decade before and I don't see the 2000s as downright ridiculous a time as what's going on today. Also, I can't judge really but I have the impression that the development of the internet and mobile phones in the last ten years has sort of 'ruined' childhood/changed it for the worse because children have started using computers and mobile phones at an even younger age and it seems that this just leads up to a general lack of imagination as they aren't forced to be creative anymore if they don't want to be bored out of their minds.

90s of course. Being a teenager in this decade was great. All downhill since then.

I guess it depends how you define youth. I was a toddler in the late 70ies, a child in the 80ies and a youth in the 90ies, so I picked the 90ies. That also was when my musical taste really developed, even if I totally ignored Oasis then, shame on me!

I was born in 82 so I'm like someone who's technically a millennial with a touch of gen x. Watching Hey Arnold whilst listening to Backstreet Boys and playing Pokemon I was just slightly too old for any of those. The shows I'd watch on Nickelodeon were more Doug, Ren & Stimpy, and Salute Your Shorts. It's weird now to keep hearing from guys almost my age who admit they listened to the Backstreet Boys because as soon as they came out I already saw them as manufactured cookie cutter teen pop. Too bad I missed out on Nirvana. It depends on how you define youth. In the 80s it was all childhood and I had Super Mario Bros and Calvin and Hobbes and He Man. But my coming of age years were in the 90s and 1997 in particular was when I really became myself. So I was both a kid and a teen in the 90s but I think "80s kid" describes me more. That was a great time to be a five year old.

Oh, and Captain Planet was the shit. (even though man made global warming still doesn't exist). From the Mind of Ted Turner himself, in part at least And surely the amount of energy and hot air you consume or produce here and elsewhere contributes to global warming, or is the jury out on you and man-made*? * Only joking Nigel, hope vou got a positive result from QMUL to go with Manchester

2000's. I remember fuck all from 90's and my life was fun and carefree till 2010. Then teenage anxiety, responsibilities and other shite kicked in. In 2015-16 things changed direction and I've started to enjoy life more, (alcohol helped?). Anyway, this year will be the best year in my life
