I’m not really into the new album, but I really hope Noel continues down this path. Another traditional album from him doesn’t interest me at all unless Liam is singing those tunes. I agree he needs to continue to evolve musically in terms of production. But songwriting wise I do think Noel's best songs are always written by him alone in his own time rather than in a studio. Be nice to meet halfway between him working with a producer like Holmes but on pre-written songs.

In terms of the release of the album/singles and the timing and pricing for the touring... it's all been utterly bizarre for this record. Feels like those on the management and label side just thought "well there's a fucking scissor player in a cape for this one, how the fuck do we market that?" and just lost their shit. They don't rate it so haven't promoted it much. The whole album has been downplayed from the start. If that's the case they'd have been better off dropping it out of the blue all in one go.

Yeah, I'm not buying this. Got to have new music or what's the point. That really should be obvious. I'll never understand what they're thinking when they give us 100% music we already have. Most people don't care about demos and instrumentals. They want new tunes. That's an incentive to purchase a single from an album that has already been released.

I think the tour is going to be very decisive in how Noel sees this album in years to come. If the songs don't catch on in a live arena, I think we won't see many of these being played again and the next album is going to be a return to the traditional song writing he's always done. Which would be a shame. There's potential in this method of working. It shouldnt have to be all Black and White. He could do one SIDE of experimental and another of more Noel by numbers stuff.

The day of the b-side is pretty much dead, sadly. Oh for the 90s again when you'd get virtually a 2nd album of b-sides.

I trust Holmes and I hope that the more he pushes Noel the better the end results will be. For once, I hope Noel doesn’t completely abandon an experimental approach just because he didn’t ace it on his first try.

Disappointing b-side. Lazy! And while we're at it, 25 euros for a shipped vinyl single is a tad too much. And a March release date... that's a bit of a joke. Heck, I've just bought it anyway I thought people were kidding when they said it's coming out in one and a half month, but damn, it's actually true. I mean, MARCH?! *scratches head in confusion* And the song has actually been out since early November

£18.50 inc shipping for a single?! Wow. I'll give it some thought before ordering that or possibly just go for the yellow one.

We've had If There's A God since 2005 but he's used it TWICE in the album cycle anyway, without even bothering to record it properly.
WBTM has 11 tracks out of which three are instrumentals, two of them are even the friggin same!
Come on Noel!

A. It's a Beautiful World B1. It's a Beautiful World (Instrumental) B2. God Help Us All (Demo) Already got two of those tracks and I don't have a vinyl record player to play the other one. I'm one of Noel's biggest fans but he's not offering me anything at all here worth spending my money on. Sorry Noel, no sale. Even if this was a three track CD single I'd still think it's a bit of a duff tracklisting but I'd buy it just to get the instrumental. An EP single CD like this (see below) would be relatively dull but surely easy enough from him to compile for fans and would run to around 40 mins. At least I'd think I'm getting something worth spending money on - 01. It's A Beautiful World 02. God Help Us All 03. It's A Beautiful World (instrumental) 04. It's A Beautiful World (Andrew Weatherall Remix) 05. It's A Beautiful World (Park & Pickering's 21st Century Nude Remix) 06. It's A Beautiful World (Andrew Weatherall Instrumental Remix) 07. It's A Beautiful World (Park & Pickering's 21st Century Nude Instrumental Remix)

Was there a download code for the Holy Mountain single? No download code whatsoever. And it's really shocking, especially if you're in 2018 and you spend 22 quids for a fucking single. You should get a free FLAC download included but you don't because people at Ignition (and TM Stores) are still stuck in the late '90s

The new single offers no real value from a music point of view unfortunately, and is obviously stupidly overpriced. I bought it only because the picture discs will make a great set eventually, and I'm hoping for a nice box to put them in like we got with the first album.
As with all these limited edition things a huge chunk of people buying them are bellends who intend to list them on eBay and triple their money. They're always going to be popular and sell out which is why Noel doesn't need to bother with offering new material I suppose.
