This release better have the Heroin-inspired tune that he recorded with Holmes after Lou Reed died. I'm salivating at what it could sound like. A bass-heavy 7-minute epic with huge dynamic shifts? Bring it on! I need something to replace BAWS and If Love Is the Law and put the "dark" back into the Dark Side of Who Built the Moon!

If there's any bonus tracks this time around it will probably just be one of the Beautiful World remixes. ...A bass-heavy 7-minute epic with huge dynamic shifts? Bring it on! I need something to replace BAWS and If Love Is the Law and put the "dark" back into the Dark Side of Who Built the Moon! I think Noel should do dark, trance remixes of ALL the tracks on the album, add the "Lou Reed" track as a bonus and release it all as a full length remix LP.

I'd prefer something from work with Holmes, I want the spirit of this album cycle, not older material like this to come out. A song from 2005 and a radio performance from Ireland. At least not for every single on this campaign.

I've always found God Help Us All to be the tune that was most wisely left in the vault. Gimme another Here's a Leave My Mexican Alone for Your Birthday Cake over that anyday.

I have no problems with it coming out at all but I'm glad Noel flourished it from his system. It was always just an ok song and no studio polishing was gonna change that. Plus its over 12 years old.

What’s the point of singles as we approach 2 months into the album release? In any case, Black and White Sunshine should have been a single. Catchy joyous material ready for the radio. Holy Mountain 2.0. mystoryisgory

What’s the point of singles as we approach 2 months into the album release? Yeah, why bother doing any promotion for the album at all now, just let it sink. Everyone who’s going to buy it now will have bought it, there’s just no point getting songs on the radio or releasing videos to get new people interested.

I don't really care in the slightest what the single is as I already have the entire album. For me the only aspect of the next single that is of any interest is the release of any "b-sides".
The only people who are really going to be even bothering to listen to the b-sides are the fans so it makes sense to give them something previously unheard or unreleased - not stuff like God Help Us All which I'm sure most fans have managed to get hold of in some form or other by now.
Singles by Oasis used to be a big deal - a shiny new CD with three brand new songs as b-sides. Cut to 2018 and the expectation now is that it there will be just one "b-side" and it may well be a track that was actually already on some copies of the album and if you want to buy it the only option will be a vinyl single anyway.
A really dismal state of affairs - how did it come to this and why?
Is it really that hard to at least throw in a few remixes or alternate takes or demos every time there's a single release? Is it just laziness or is there a financial reason for this stinginess?

Holy Mountain 2.0. mystoryisgoryCan't agree on that one. BAWS shouldn't have been a single because it doesn't have the same euphoric chorus. Even though it's catchy af, I still have trouble recalling its melody, something I've never encountered with Holy Mountain. And while Holy Mountain's horns made it distinctive, BAWS's jangley riff feels very generic.

Who could say Noel has a new album out and it's doing good? No new singles, no videos, no concerts, nothing at all!

This really isn’t that hard Noel Management. You pick a song that hasn’t been released as a single yet. You announce a physical format with a new song as the bonus track. You also release a real video and get this, publish it all to the internet on the same day. Then you’ll get some extended chart momentum.
