Anyone else see that incident tonight when Roy Carrol dropped the ball, and it was about 3 yards over the line and the goal wasnt given? Un-real!

After reviewing the footage form last nights game the FA has decided that the decision not to allow the Spurs goal was the right one. The FA has released a picture that clearly shows that the ball did not cross the line. “Using the Manchester united approved goal markings that the FA have allowed the home team to use this season, you can see the shadow of the ball does not cross the line”<br>The FA have released a further statement this morning - The FA will support Manchester United in any further endeavour to make sure that they will never lose a game at old Trafford. These will include paying off referees i.e. making Mike Riley the ref for all their home games, giving suspect penalties and only allowing the away team to field 5 players.

lol @ dixon
it was a shocking decision. So obviously over the line even from the angle of Sky's main camera
Some people are saying the linesman was too far away to judge it - was he bollox! watch the replays he was sprinting down the line and was at the penalty box when the ball hit Carroll. he was easily close enough - either he blinked and missed it or he's downright blind
it would take maybe 2 cameras on each goaline and a TV screen near the 4th official to clear these incidents up instantly - is that really too much hassle?

He was level with play when it was near the half way line and then then the spurs player had a shot from really far out, there is no way the linesman could have run that fast to get level with goal-line. And from the angle he would have been at he wouldnt have been able to see for sure if it had gone over the line, which means if he's not sure then he cant give it!! ;D ;D ;D

Yeah there was no way the linesman could have got to the goal-line but he was running past the 18 yard line as the goal went it - thats close enough he just had to look at carrol's body position - his head is on the line so if his arm is out-stretched then the ball simply must be over it! anyway - Carroll must be thankful - all this controversy has covered up the fact that he made an absolutely horrendous error.... but i'm sure it wont have passed Fergie by....

my heart nearly stopped then.
Carroll will prob be dropped next game, Fergie done it to Barthez and Howard after they made blunders similer to that one. Carroll also mishandeled in the first half aswell but got away with it.
I think he is a good keeper tho, but i also like Tim Howard and think he should be given another chance.
