Should have been of London and not NYC.
Come on Noel, you know better.

“If I'd lived in Roman times, I'd have lived in Rome. Where else? Today America is the Roman Empire and New York is Rome itself.”

Any reason you used the New York skyline for the cover of Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants? "I thought I’d pay you respect and that before they blow you up and that." -Liam Gallagher, on MTV 2000 www.sickchirpse.com/liam-gallagher-predicted-911/

Should have been of London and not NYC. Come on Noel, you know better. It was a British institution (Oasis) paying tribute to New York so really it was prophetic- That other British institution London since the turn of the 21st Century has been paying tribute to New York by trying to emulate it's skyline

More like Manchester instead of NYC, innit?
I'm more than fine with the cover, it looks cool and I like how it presents the title.

Where in London would you get similar spectacular views? Central London??? Top of the Millenium wheel??? (or Coca Cola Wheel, or United Arab Emirates Wheel or Arnott's Biscuit's Wagon Wheel or whatever it's fucking called now). Fuck that, all you can see is buildings shaped like cucumbers amongst a hazy fug of pollution while suit wearing wankshafts who have forgotten all social customs wander aimlessly below and inhale the toxic fumes emanating from the endless traffic and shite-infested Thames, slowly poisoning their bodies while the city takes grab of their soul in their shallow pursuit of wealth, always pursuing something, and always getting something, but never fulfilling. That's most of the hackit dobbers who wander the streets of central London right there.
I was in Manchester and Liverpool last week. The red bricked architecture in both cities is way more impressive than London. So if he had to stick to the UK, it should have been closer to home.

I’ve never been to Manchester but am off to The University of Manchester this September for graduate school (my health not withstanding). I’m a London boy (obvs), but what is your overall thoughts on Manchester as a city?

Looks like i wasn't too far off my original thoughts as to how a year back there would affect you

I really do miss Much Music. I watched it a ton growing up in New Jersey. We were lucky to get in with our cable in the mid 90s. They always had a more music first attitude compared to MTV and VH1 at those times. Some great interviews and guest spots by many many bands during that era. Fantastic Radiohead ones as well. Imagine a network just dedicated to music? Would be great.

They had a lot of good music programming and I think they hung in longer before giving into the while celebrity junk culture of the early 2000s.
