Talent and all that other boring nonsense to one side, say you wanted to put together some music what would be the bands, musicians, albums and songs you'd be looking at to to try and help formulate your sound? (Blah, blah, blah, obviously this is all idealised but it's just a bit of thought provoking fun some people might enjoy. So do!)
In my head I reckon I'd be trying to put stuff together that wouldn't sound too dissimilar to The Jesus & Mary Chain though that'd probably more by convergence than direct influence. I always lean towards the heavier, noisier and more abrasive guitar tones and would probably try to use a drum machine (that very obviously sounds like a drum machine) with mechanically tight rhythm to anchor the more off kilter guitars. I guess it'd be alt rock influenced noise rock (or noise pop).
In terms of bands whose overall sounds and discographies I'd look to pull from I think I'd be looking to Big Black, Mclusky, Pixies, Nirvana, Sugar, amongst others... all in all quite an American (or at least American influenced) scene. Of course there are many, many others (personally I think it'd be foolish not to look to Radiohead for example) but these would probably be amongst the most typical. Work created by a narrow selection of Hip Hop producers would probably get a fair look in too.
As for musicians I'll just reel off some who have an identifiable style I appreciate: Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal, David Lovering, Jah Wobble, Keith Levene, Steve Albini, Todd Trainer, J Mascis, Bob Mould, Jonny Greenwood, Josh Homme, Buzz Osbourne, Jack White, Meg White, D. Boon, Steve Jones, John Squire, Reni, Andrew Falkous, Dave Grohl (Drumming), Zach Hill and probably a butt load more I'm forgetting.
A selection of potential album touchstones: Era Vulgaris (QOTSA), Exmilitary (Death Grips), Beaster (Sugar), First Issue & Metal Box (PiL), Icky Thump (The White Stripes), The Difference Between... (Mclusky), Physical Graffiti (Led Zeppelin)
I'll probably expand on this and go into more detail later on.

In terms of Oasis, Beady Eye & either of Liam and Noel's solo careers the only albums I'd draw upon would be Definitely Maybe and Dig Out Your Soul. The main tracks from these albums that draw the most inspiration for me (though that's not to say they are necessarily my favourite) are: Columbia, Supersonic, Cigarettes & Alcohol, Up In The Sky, Slide Away, Shakermaker, Listen Up, Half The World Away, Bag It Up, The Shock of the Lightning, Falling Down, (Get Off) Your High Horse Lady and To Be Where There's Life.
Other tracks from Oasis's, Beady Eye's, Liam or Noel's discography which I would consider are: Some Might Say, Morning Glory, D'You Know What I Mean?, My Big Mouth, Fade In-Out, Be Here Now, Fuckin' In The Bushes, Go Let It Out, Gas Panic!, Full On, The Hindu Times (Demo), Mucky Fingers, Flick of the Finger, Ballad of the Mighty I and Holy Mountain. Regardless of song quality the other tracks are either to middle of the road or not something I'd want to personally be bothered about emulating.
In terms of musicianship I'm not sure anything particularly stands out but I think Noel's songwriting as quite muscular if you know what I mean? There's nothing particularly subtle and it's usually at it's best when Liam's at full throttle and that I like.

As a guy who's recorded like two songs on his phone, it feels almost vulgar to talk abut my "songwriting", but I didn't make the thread so what the hell Anyway, my "process"(I vomited writing that) starts more with trying to come up with intresting lyrics/narratives, while melody sort of comes second. And while I think it's hard to pin down exactly which artists I think have influenced me, I guess names like Tom Waits, Joshua Homme and Frank Zappa needs to be mentioned.

90's Oasis is, by far, my biggest influence. I'm also inspired a lot by The La's, Belle and Sebastian, Baroque Music in general, My Bloody Valentine, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, The Rolling Stones, Arcade Fire, a bit of Velvet and Pavement + various other bands/artists (Radiohead, Elliott Smith, Sex Pistols, The Zombies, Big Star, etc).
I try to make a mix of all of that with some artists being more proeminent , of course.

Probably a combination of Oasis, Led Zeppelin and Radiohead. The melody and great tunes of Oasis combined with the mind blowing instrumentalists of Led Zeppelin with the experimental aspect of Radiohead is the ideal sound.
