very interesting. I was only asking because I remember clearly that being mentioned in the past but wasnt sure how much truth was in it compared to Noel's claim. Of course they are both happy to bend the facts in order to have a pop at each other. I wasn't really trying to defend Liam in any way. I know, I dont believe either of them were deliberately trying to piss off the other. It's just a technical problem to me, Noel would probably have dropped the key if the sound wasn't impacted. Liam is playing Some Might Say on this tour the exact same way it was recorded for instance. So it was definitely a musical decision not to drop the key. When Oasis were starting out without a multitude of guitars and team of techs it's preferable to do songs open and in normal tuning (without capos) to save time faffing around re-tuning in between songs, so you can see in the first 2 albums that's pretty much what they did. And Liam's a pretty good singer so he could adapt to whatever key it's in, and I'm sure they were musical decisions. But I can actually believe that Noel prefers singing stuff higher than Liam. Doesn't make him a better singer, it's just personal preference according to the song.

I believe he wrote them the way he sings them now, with a capo on 2nd or 3rd. Just like... wonderwall. So indeed, it's easier to play stuff with no capo, and Epiphone guitars can sound really shit if played with a capo. That's what they had, and those guitars don't like other tunings. But it also depends on the singer's tone. Liam's tone fit perfectly with the regular tuning. He does not need to drop a key, he just need to sing without destroying his voice. Step one, to lower the mic, has been done years ago. Now he really need to calm down a bit on some tunes, and it will be perfection.
