Scholes scored the opening goal of the match Manchester United ended their American tour without a win after losing 9-8 on penalties to AC Milan in their final Champions Series match on Saturday. United opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Paul Scholes pounced on a mistake by Alessandro Nesta. But Andriy Shevchenko forced a penalty shoot-out by deflecting in a free-kick in the dying seconds of regular time. The two sides were level after nine penalties each before United goalkeeper Tim Howard missed the final spot-kick. The match drew an announced crowd of 74,511 to Giants Stadium, about 4,500 fewer than Manchester United's appearance last year when it played Juventus I was there..... ;D It was hot as hell. I think it was ironic that Howard missed the penalty in his old stadium. Oh well.
