Okay guys bare with me a little here. I've been listening to this album for the last week. I really enjoy it and it's clearly an exhibition of Noel's development as an artist. I have no concerns that he's going to pull a Coldplay and go completely off script for the rest of his career. Nothing in the history of Oasis ir Noel would suggest that. I know he's not traditionally one for hidden meanings, but with the last two (bonus) tracks being more traditional Noel, I can't help but think that in some way there may be a message of...."take the theme of the album and combined it with my more typical style of music, and look forward..." Maybe I'm just reading too much into it or it could possibly be that I am slightly intoxicated at the moment. Either way I'm enjoying the hell out of this album. If I am on to something, the next album could be pretty fucking amazing I just wanted to get people's thoughts.

I think if Noel had the choice, he would very much like to "do a coldplay" and become massive in the US with a different sound to the one that got him his fanbase.

I got a feeling LP4 will be more traditional, just a hunch - I hope that doesn't mean Sardy will be back on board as well.
WBTM is a very solid record and easily his best one, but I feel some of it isn't fully realized. You can tell on each song who's the person front and center between Noel and David, it doesn't sound like a seamless combo outside of tunes like If Love Is the Law, It's A Beautiful World, The Man Who Built The Moon for instance. It's a jubilant record with a bit of darkness but overall I'd categorize it as a late summer record - still high on life but knowing things will wind down soon.
It makes me want LP4 to explore darker tones, especially a song like The Man Who Built The Moon. Dead In The Water for instance, while not part of the album sessions, feels like it could be elevated from a solid Noel tune to a haunting, dark ambient ballad with Holmes at the production desk. In this setting, Noel can go back to his classic way of songwriting, but maintains new sounds and goes places that will be uncomfortable for many but painfully relatable. It seems poetic too if LP4 is darker, you get the sunshine with Who Built the Moon, now back to reality. It's A Beautiful world sarcastically foreshadows that.
