Biggest grower on the album, so far, for me. Disliked it when the live performance came out. Then it grew on me. And has continued to grow. It has the shouty vocals in the chorus of Noel from a bygone decade (late 90s/early 00's). Wasn't sure of the PYMWYMI lyric - due to that shite song by that title - but it works fine here. One of the highlights of the album, for sure. As joyous as Holy Mountain (where are ya, mystoryisgory?) *Excellent scissoring action, too. Well in.

It's one step away from being a great song. Cut 90 seconds out of it and we might be getting somewhere...

I enjoy it more now I've heard the studio version and I realise he's not singing "wa la lah!"

Na na na" beats the Hell out of "wa la la".

Favorite song on the album, could listen to it on repeat.
Which shocked me because I didn’t love that initial live performance.

The chorus is so uplifting and fun, it's unreal.

I actually prefer the live version from Jools Holland. Feels slightly more alive.

I actually prefer the live version from Jools Holland. Feels slightly more alive. Agreed. As much as I try to get into the album version, I keep coming back to that very performance. The two guitars add a certain needed punch to it and the edit is great as well. Love watching how the band is really into it, especially Jess doing backing vocals and also seeing Noel's wife dancing away at one point. And for all his songwriting crimes, Gem on stage is coolness personified.

There's no song I dislike on this album, in fact it just gets better and better with each listen.
This along with Black & White Sunshine are my least favourite though - the only ones not to really grab me on first listen, but that said, the hooks for both songs have been going through my head the last couple of days so they are definitely doing something right! I do find that it runs out of ideas though but the uptempo vibe is enough to make it endearing.
I really do like the production, and the shimmering synths courtesy of Mr Holmes is a great addition. He gives it much vibrancy.
By no means a bad track at all, just not a highlight for me personally.

Yeah this grew on me too. Wasn't digging it from the Jools performance, I don't think they did it justice. The production is very good on this, sounds bloody awesome! The bassline is great and the vibe I'm digging.
For me the only track I'm not particularly hot on is If Love Is The Law - it's a nice tune but when it gets to the chorus Noel's voice is drowned out by lots of sound in the same frequency range and I don't quite feel the impact of it for that reason. Heard it on really good headphones, my hifi speakers and iPhone headphones - same issue. I do like Johnny Marr's contribution though.

It’s a good song, but would be a great song if they edited out half of the 107 “the one i love’s” before you get to the first chorus, which is a great chorus!

I think he's very capable and can exert plenty of raw emotion but I feel the effects on his voice in Love Is The Law work overall for me. Blends in with the joyous blizzard of sound. Similar to Holy Mountain in its execution (although not nearly as eccentric as that tune). Honestly, I think it is his most joyous sounding pop song since All Around The World (even if the lyrics are a more pessimistic than on first impressions!). One of my favourites on the album for sure.

The start of it, along with the choris of Beautiful world are the parts of the production they got really wrong.
It just takes away the energy and bite. Its lost in a sort of puddle.
In the chorus of this its got all the energy you need. Ironically all my favourite moments of the album dont rely on the production at all really.
