Anyone spot that track in the Apple Music documentary? Sounded nice - I liked it.
There were some lyrics on a bit of paper too in David Holme's studio that the camera zoomed in on that weren't from the album - not sure if they're Noel's though, or what...

Looking at the Logic window, although you can't hear it all in the snippet we got, it's got trombone on it (?!) and a couple of tracks of Ondes Martenot (the weird sounding vintage French synth)
And its 84 BPM, in case anyone cares...

For the studio geeks here, the doc also shows an Eventide in Holme's studio (which was used to create the distinctive drum loop sound on Iggy Pop's Nightclubbing) and a Roland Space Echo (which Noel used for some of those big echo-y guitar parts on Definitely Maybe - Columbia in particular)

Anyway to watch this documentary?
I just wonder if Noel plans on holding on to songs with another album with Holmes perhaps? No bonus materials suggested the well was dry, but then again, Fort Knox and Holy Mountain almost never made it onto the album, which suggests there's material in the vaults.
My god, I'd love to hear it.

My god, I'd love to hear it. In recent interviews Noel has said: - 3 other "songs" recorded with Holmes that didn't make the album - 18 "tracks" recorded with Holmes in total - 50 pieces of music worked on with Holmes in total - he'd like to work with Holmes again - In the same time period he's written 2 albums worth of songs not even considered for this "studio written" only project So if they do go back in the studio together again they'll hit the ground running. Honestly I feel like Noel's next move should be a more conventional album. He already had a couple of promising songs left over after CY, added more while working on WBTM and would obviously add some new ones.
Weird that they didn't think of recording one or two b-sides in those sessions - or maybe Noel has different plans for those songs.

Keep in mind it seems like they're only aiming for 3 singles from this album (judging by the promo pics on the website, anyway). They've got Dead in the Water for HM, and they still have the potential to use God Help Us All, as well as these remixes that we've still not heard. There's also a small chance that we could get recordings or demoes of other, unused songs by the time TMWBTM single comes out.

I strongly believe Noel has something else planned with those leftovers.

The last thing he needs is to change direction. These are exactly the types of albums he should be doing now. He'll get better and better at them. We've got 9 'conventional' albums to go back to and enjoy. No need to keep using old songs not deemed good enough for albums. In fact, the only 'old' song I'd like to hear a finished version of is 'Don't Stop'.

Going by the art prints on the official store it would seem that Holy Mountain Beautiful World Man Who Built the Moon are at least the first three singles if not all the singles.

Hmm true Strange decision. I love the song and it's definitely single-worthy, but I think Keep on Reaching and STMTF are both better choices

It would be nice to do some digital bonus tracks. Would be better if he put them on as b sides to the next singles if there are any.
I for one would love to hear the alternative versions of Fort Knox where there's real lyrics and all.

He threw out songs that sounded too much like Oasis, songs that weren't written in the studio and songs that he had left over from before. I want to hear those! If he continues like WBTM he should at least consider using pre-written material. I'm sure he could have made Don't Stop Being Happy fit the sound of the album.
