Lyrically Noel is going more and more surreal every record which is kinda weird. If you didn't notice that let me sum up some of the latest characters of his songs:
-Riverman -Angel that says give me your soul and i'll be on my way -The girl with a star shaped tambourine that's standing lost and lonely on a shore -The girl with fucking x ray eyes (superhero moment) -The man that walks the earth alone -The man who built the moon that arrives on a knackered horse
Where is that coming from? Books, dreams ?Who are those guys ?

"...the man who built the moon, / He arrived on a knackered horse" bears a resemblance to Paul Weller's "He's the one knight / On a knackered stallion," from 'He's the Keeper', his tribute to Ronnie Lane. Noel might have decided to finish off this bit about "the man who built the moon" (I'm guessing he had the title first and wrote the rest of the song around it) by borrowing a line off one of his old songwriter pals. I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time...
I'm guessing "Cecilia" from 'A Simple Game of Genius' was named thusly so that she rhymed with "I will be with yer."

I've always found that Cecilia thing cringeworthy.
