I think Noel got spooked after the reception SOTSG got and never looked back until now. I imagine a better produced/better-crafted SOTSG follow up album would have been massive.

It's equally as bad as Heathen Chemistry anyway, so it would have made little difference.

It's equally as bad as Heathen Chemistry anyway, so it would have made little difference. PARKA MONKEY Certainly not. I got bored with Liam's album halfway through.. I'm just listening objectively and find WBTM to be pretty awful. One of the worst things Noel's ever put out, arguably the worst. Dad rock melodies over some patchwork production and arranging. Some weak attempt at bringing eclectic influences into it and ending up sounding as generic as ever. It's trying way too hard and doesn't hit any marks at all. I see what he tried to do but there's far better people out there doing it. No thanks. At least Liam's album never tried too hard. It might be a bit bog standard, but at least it does a job. Noel's album is the sound of middle aged guys that are way over the hill still trying to sound cool and really being way, way off the mark. It's kind of embarrassing really. Makes me cringe. It may have spawned a new genre. Dad-Rock has made way for Midlife Crisis Rock.

Nah, this could never be an Oasis album. Part of the reason why it's so good.

WBTM sounds like an evolution of that DOYS sound.
