Initial review for me: 1. Shockwave - 7/10 2. One of Us - 5/10 3. Once - 9/10 4. Now That I've Found You - 8/10 5. Halo - 6.5/10 6. Why Me? Why Not. 6.5/10 7. Be Still - 5/10 8. Alright Now - 4/10 9. Meadow - 4/10 10. The River - 7/10 11. Gone - 8.5/10 12. Invisible Sun - 6.5/10 13. Misunderstood - 6/10 14. Glimmer - 4.5/10 This gives the album an overall rating of 6.25/10 for me which does seem a bit low but the middle part of the album does have a big dip for me. Highlights for me - Once, Now That I've Found You, Gone and The River. Lowlights for me - Alright, Meadow and Glimmer, all crap. Your ratings are wierd.. Be Still is a huge stand out track .. catchy with a fantastic chorus! The middle of the album is the strongest part besides Halo that I give a very low score.. Alright Now is also a heck of a tune! Meadow is a bore but a decent Beatle style filler that ties it together.. This is by FAR the best Gallagher solo album ..It beats half the Oasis albums

Early days but to me there's no real filler. Strong from start to finish.

Caved and listening now.
Just reached Halo. What a tune! And Now That I've Found You is brilliant. Liam is so much better being fun, honestly. So much better!
Five songs in and three I love. The other two (Once and Shockwave) I couldn't care less.

A couple of early observations, still nowhere near ready to do a full review though. As I’ve already said, this album rocks.
The placement of Alright Now and Meadow remind be of I Get By and You Better Run. Two similar songs one after another which kind of really slow the pace for me, but almost too much. (These two slow the pace, whereas the two from AYW just aren’t my cup of tea, so it’s the part of AYW where I tune out). I need more time with both of these songs, they sound great, but also sound like songs where I need 30 listens before a get that aha moment (I do love when that happens, its like getting an unexpected gem).
Halo is not for me and probably will be my least favourite LG song between both albums. Like the energy of it. But Fast and stompy + Gallagher for me doesn’t really work. I know people like when they change things up cause they stick to what they know too much, but mid-tempo and/or ballady all the way for me. It’s just what they are best at. Stompy/rough/gruff/snarly Liam is not for me, I need him sounding as sweet/wussy as possible, that to me is when he is at this best.
I want to like Gone more than I do. I always want to love the album closer cause to me it should always be an album highlight. And I do like it. But I’m not getting what others are getting. Maybe I just need my aha moment after 30 listens. I’m hearing a song with great production, depth and atmosphere. But I feel like they are lifting up what is overall just a meh song. I’m not sure. I feel like its missing a hook (which I’m guilty of coming to expect too much having listened to Oasis forever). Hopefully by next review I’ll like it more.
I think it flows better than AYW and has more quality tracks for sure. But I’m still trying to figure out if it reaches the heights on AYW for me. I’m not sure if I like any of the songs more than Bold, I’ve All I Need and IDHTBTW. I think NTIFY, WMWN and Misunderstood are the candidates to step up to that challenge. Once and One of Us just fall slightly short of those heights. But I need to listen way more. But overall, all the songs are between 6-9 right now so I am very happy overall.

Overall the production is fantastic. It saves a few weak melodies. But this record needs a track listing Re-arrange.

This album is probably the most Beatlesque thing Liam has ever done. And he's done quite a bit beatlesque things. He must be proud

The greatest thing about music is that people hear different things and like different kinds of genres. I started listening to progressive rock when I was 13 years old. When SOTSOG came out I thought that Gas Panic was one of the highlights of the album. My friends laughed at me, it took a few live performances for them to understand how good it was. Anyway, silly that some of you criticice other forum members opinions and ratings. Everyone has the right to have their own opinion. Anyway, for me Meadow is the best song Liam have sung on a record since Bag It Up. Overall I think WMWN is great. Many really good pop songs. I miss heavier songs though, like Come Back To Me for instance.

Well, I've made no secret at my disappointment at two of the singles. And I stand by that. For me, Once and Shockwave are two of the weakest songs on the album. But after a first listen, I'm very happy. He's done what I wanted and that's stretch himself, but still stick by his roots. Something I mentioned to Oa when he said he'd heard a few of the songs a while back (and I totally get what he meant by his comments that they're unexpected). I much more prefer the joyous songs. Like Now That I've Found You and Halo, because that's clearly where Liam is at right now. And whether he wrote all of the lyrics or not I believe those songs are coming from a place which represents how he feels and how happy he is with his life/family etc. What I don't like is the faux anger and grief, and it's why Shockwave for me is poor. I don't think many of the songs do this, but the ones that try hard to be your 'stereotypical' Liam Gallagher tune are, tbh, very passable. Even One Of Us, which I really like, doesn't match up fully to the likes of the songs I mention before imo. It's too early for ratings as I'll have to go back through and listen again. I think Gone is really good and if Liam is gonna go darker, then that's the vibe I like. Not faux outrage like Shockwave. If I was being uber critical, i'd say the tracklisting is very iffy from Halo onwards. I feel there's a bit too much filler in the middle and The River seems to be oddly placed. If The River was at 6 or 7 I think it'd work better as the start of side two. Now, onto the bonus tracks. Then once I've had chance to listen to the entire album again I'll get some ratings down.

Rolo Do you have chords for Now That I Found You? In all seriousness it sounds a lot like 'Movin On Up' by Primal Scream at the start. So A, E, Ds maybe? Probs completely off like!

Now That I've Found You is simply exceptional.
It's got that joy that the best songs off WBTM have. It's just so uplifting.
