Can someone do a remix of 'Once' using the demo? Would be pretty easy to layer some sound effects and instruments over it, since it's just an acoustic song

Amazed at how many people can't rename a file to become a .mp3 I agree - that really astonished me. Plus others saying the only way they can play the files is to import them to itunes.

Initial review for me:
1. Shockwave - 7/10
2. One of Us - 5/10
3. Once - 9/10
4. Now That I've Found You - 8/10
5. Halo - 6.5/10
6. Why Me? Why Not. 6.5/10
7. Be Still - 5/10
8. Alright Now - 4/10
9. Meadow - 4/10
10. The River - 7/10
11. Gone - 8.5/10
12. Invisible Sun - 6.5/10
13. Misunderstood - 6/10
14. Glimmer - 4.5/10
This gives the album an overall rating of 6.25/10 for me which does seem a bit low but the middle part of the album does have a big dip for me.
Highlights for me - Once, Now That I've Found You, Gone and The River.
Lowlights for me - Alright, Meadow and Glimmer, all crap.

In the end Once is just the demo sped up slightly. That's why it sounds weird and robotic. Or this is not really a demo.
It sounds like the produced album vocals with music taken off & an acoustic guitar on it.

I think Gone is one of the best songs to come out since Oasis split. It is fucking epic.

Have to listen a lot more because these are a lot of new songs to take in. But I think i like Be Still, Meadow and Gone a lot. On first listen I thought 'Now That I Found You' is a much better version of 'For Anyone'.

Meadow is growing on me a fair bit. Same way Universal Gleam did, really. And I think Meadow has more about it than that. So far, perhaps my least favourite on the album but it's still more enjoyable than As You Were's weaker spots.

The verse of Why Me Why Not has 'Letting Go' vibes. The Mccartney & Wings song.

Now That I've Found You & Glimmer are both unashamedly joyful. Never thought I'd hear Liam sing on tracks so bouncy and poppy but both are very good.

Doubt it, everything else on the record is uber-produced. It wouldn't make sense to record a tune in the studio with that much tempo issues and rough vocals. It's a guide vocals track with added drums and strings.

Surprised to see Glimmer get some low ratings. Was buzzing when I heard it last night and still am 😁 Incredibly joyful song.

Some melodies are pretty poor, but those songs are saved by an impressive production and of course Liam's voice.
Weird that they chose Shockwave and the River to launch the record, they're clearly the worst of the bunch. Sadly Once seems to have been rushed recorded at the last minute, it's just the demo sped up and they tried to hide the tempo mistakes in the final recording, that's why it sounds weird sometimes. A proper new take would have taken what, a day. Liam being Liam...
Misundertood should have been more than a bonus track. It's a single. Glimmer too, very nice summer-y tunes.
Of course that rating will change after a few more listen and a proper rip. Glad they did not sold out completely to modern sound and added some very retro sounds, and thank you George Harrison obviously, who co-produced this record straight from where is now. John Barry too.
Shockwave 5/10 One Of Us 8/10 Once 7/10 Now That Ive Found You 9/10 Halo 8/10 Why Me Why Not 8/10 Be Still 5/10 Alright Now 7/10 Meadow 7/10 The River 5/10 Gone 8/10 Invisible Sun 6/10 Misunderstood 8/10 Glimmer 7/10
