Keep on Reaching is still the one song from WBTM that I can't completely wrap my arms around. I think the lyrics are pretty terrible, they're constantly fighting against the music. I also think it goes on for entirely too long (probably by around 15-20 seconds). What do you think of the new Reflex remix? I’m loving the hip hop style funky beat he added. Prefer it to the original. X I honestly don't know which of the three remixes I like the best yet. They are all fantastic !!

I liked Who Built the Moon but felt it needed Sardy to sprinkle his magic on it.

'If Cats Are The Law' is my favorite bong over the last several years.....I don't think WBTM is as bad as some people think; I also don't think WBTM is as great as some people think.....it's probably somewhere in the middle, like most things.
It's not 1995, it's 1994, hello....
Thanks.

Should have dumped Charlotte in BW, use something sonically, you have Holmes. How was this an issue? It’s not bad but it’s beginning to sound dated and more novelty. 3. The instrumental breaks are not arranged well at all. Should not have been split. 4. Dead On The Water??? Come on Noel. That’s cheating in this projects intended rulebook. It’s not even a good recording of the song. 5. The alarm bell in Fort Knox goes on way too fucking long.

haha sure he didn't write everything in the studio, come onnnn WBTM is amazing. listened back again this morning OUT loud at work and it's the best album since SOTSOG. maybe DOYS, but oh well was never really sure about Keep On Reaching, the can you keep a secret part was always disturbing.. but the playing and the mix are fucking mint (and Lennon2217, as much as we agree on almost everything - I completely disagree with your FOUR points ) LOVE

Well allow me to get my dueling sword! - The album is really only 9 tracks long. I don’t really count Dead In The Water. The instrumentals were split at the very very end of the creation process. Plus they needed to be spaced out more if they went down this road. First one after track 5. - I stand by my BW take. - DITW isn’t a good recoding. I’ve heard it better on other radio programs he did while promoting the album. I want a real studio version now. Is noel singing it in the shitter? - Holmes said his fav song from the sessions Noel cut at the last moment. Bummer. - That Fucking alarm bell. It should have been 15 seconds. Not 2 minutes. Sometimes it bothers me. Sometimes it doesn’t.

I don't really like the remaining songs that much either really apart from the title track, which is basically an Oasis track that Holmes helped sound more dramatic, and Fort Knox which like you I hate the bell. It's why I'm happy to see Noel give his best collection of tracks he has written over to Holmes to produce rather than be told to cut and paste bits of other people's tunes and make a song over the top in the studio.

I think I need to listen to WBTM? front to back again... it's been a long time... and reading peoples recent opinions makes me question how I remember the album.

The DITW recording is absolutely perfect. It's the best acoustic-based song Noel has done in over a decade.

DITW is a great song. it is classic noel and it isn't anything particularly groundbreaking, but it's "classic" for a reason. i loved it when i saw it live... wasn't a huge fan of the recording. but it's the only good thing to come out of WBTM tbhhhhhhhh.
whoever it was up-thread or somewhere else here that joked about how we all "figured out the chords" in the 90's made me burst out laughing btw

The DITW recording is absolutely perfect. It's the best acoustic-based song Noel has done in over a decade. It's a whole lotta delay, but I very much like the performance. The song imo is just alright, but the rawness of the Noel's delivery really elevates the song. I'd rather it not be rerecorded because it can only become more mawkish.

As for WBTM, I agree with others that it's 1 full song short imo. The instrumentals are also badly placed (well, the first one is, not the second). Noel himself has said this in all fairness and says it's his one regret from the album. But I just hope he carries on in this way. It's a step in a new direction and while not without it's faults, is an excellent album.

I think it you hangout around these parts too much nothing the Gallaghers producer will meet our inner expectations. We build up way too much hype all the time.

I'm worried about a lack of news on new material. We could be looking at a 2020 release FWIW: Re-listened to WBTM all the way thru today after leaving it alone for about 2-3 months. Fort Knox - Better than I originally thought, but still, that jackhammer ruins the whole song for me. Holy Mountain - So much joy, so little time Keep on Reaching - The MOST CAMPY song Noel has ever written. Belongs in West Side Story during a gang v. gang dance off. Beautiful World - More gorgeous each time. Can't believe this didn't get more general public attention She Taught Me How to zzzzzzz...... Be Careful What you Wish For: Getting better but again ruined by weird "yips" in second half of song. No need for that. Black & White Sunshine: Wish I could like this song, but just can't get the key to turn in the lock If Love if the Law: Still fresh and lovely. Will be featured in Love Actually 2 for sure. TMWBTM: One of the coolest songs ever written. Westworld needs this alongside Radiohead. Dead in the Water: Beautiful as always but (caution: unpopular opinion), I don't like how he's been signing it live. His voice gives out on key moments.

Noel's handwriting is pretty cool. More like a girl's (if I'm allowed to say that) than your usual man's dead spider scrawl.
