It's a bit like the Arctic Monkeys Release it any other week and you're comfortably #1, but you end up losing a crazy streak instead Well, Arctic Monkeys were over 100k even with a totally uncommercial (and imo totally uninspired) album. That was really bad luck. The case of Noel is more mixed: there are many more artists that can fight the number 1 with him, so this could eventually happen. He should just move om, not really a big deal, and much less in 2023 Yet, interesting enough are doing stadium for the first time in the UK. I wasnt impressed with the car but they are doing their biggest tour so far. It makes me wonder if this is the last hurrah of the band

Can't blame me if he doesn't get #1. I'm in Canada and have 2 records coming from the UK + just bought the digital download with commentary! 3 units from me!

Is it really that big a deal missing number 1 by 500 albums in this day and age? Some of the biggest albums of all time like Led Zeppelin 4 only got to number 2. It is rather sad that to see that long streak come to an end though …

I'm surprised by people here going "does X American band even have fans??" American bands are often big partly because they have lots of fans in America, even if they're not all that popular in the UK. I've been casually asking around for months about who remembers Garbage form the 90s and who remembers Oasis, and more people of my acquaintance remember Garbage than Oasis. The Foo Fighters are selling albums because they have lots of fans, including several who have said so right here on this very forum within the past week.
I’ve known 1 Garbage fan in my entire life. The year was 1999. No idea if he is still a fan. I've always loved the band and have all of Garbage's albums - not just the 1990s stuff.

I'm not paying for a track-by-track commentary. That's the kind of stuff artists should be releasing for free as part of their promotional campaign for the album. And they want Noel's fans to pay for that? All they have to do is add some new music - even just demos, rehearsals, remixes or instrumentals - and I'd buy it. They want to sell more Noel Gallagher music? Give us some new Noel Gallagher music to buy.

Someone who hasn’t bought it yet might be persuaded when they see that price. I’ve seen other bands do exactly this sort of thing, it’s not unusual. 📈

Not too bothered by all this other stuff though.

Garbage and Shirley are amazing! Their most recent album No Gods No Masters would be my favourite release of the last few years, I still listen to it all the time. Tbh if that Noel/Garbage tour came to New Zealand, I'd be more excited about seeing Garbage ... but part of that is I've seen Noel numerous times before, but never seen Garbage. As for the number one battle ... this was always going to be a huge albums for the Foos with it being a very personal one and the first since Taylor Hawkins' death. I think Noel's only got himself to blame for slagging off Taylor Hawkins and it will be quite fitting if they nab number one spot from him. What goes around comes around ...

Majority of the setlist is from AM. Thankfully 🙏

Release more signed versions and they’ll make up that difference quick

Released more signed versions and they’ll make up that difference quick I saw the last lot go up and thought about buying it, but when his signature is basically two straight lines, it's a bit difficult to get too excited.

On principle I do agree, but in this case it's 5 pounds for the album AND the commentary... less than one of those Starbucks coffees that everyone seems to like

Pulling out all the stops now aren't they. Bonus this, bonus that, exclusive here, competition there. Urgh. Too many unnecessary expensive bundles. People are lost and not enough bonus tracks to justify the price. It was bound to kick them in the ass.

Sorry, not interested.

Still no sign of the 7-inch Pretty Boy (Acoustic) out there...? I could try and upload it. Your not missing much, It really is the same as the other "acoustic" versions. Same Vocal just removed the drum machine and other instruments. Should be called a "stripped back" version really.

Sorry, not interested. Think of all the money you’ve saved with there being no singles this time round. Those £15 singles from the Moon cycle were a real rip off. A b-side that’s actually on the album? A b-side that was already released 6 years ago? My, you do spoil us Noel! They’re not necessarily trying to get people to buy it a second time here, but encourage people who’ve been on the fence and not bought it yet. A fiver is a good deal for the album. 🐄
