I'm exactly the same, they aren't bad songs and the different instrumentation and the production on the album is welcome but they just leave me a bit cold to be honest. Ah, that's unfortunate. Not even Be Careful What You Wish For? I seem to recall you really liked the Right Stuff, both songs seem to share a similar mood/structure so I thought you might like the new one as well. Interesting you brought this up, I do feel like Be Careful What You Wish For had similarities to The Right Stuff, which I love.

If the three live songs we get aren't ruined by the production in some way, this is pretty much already my favourite Gallagher album since Be Here Now.. Some leap that 😂 Maybe, but that would make six tracks that I love/really really like on an album with only nine full tracks if you count Fort Knox. Given that Keep on Reaching, If Love is the Law, and The Man Who Built the Moon are getting great reviews and sound so intriguing, that the production is as modern and energetic as Noel has ever sounded, I can't imagine it not overall being a better album that SOTSOG (my current fav post-1997).

By no means forming a proper opinion just yet as I'm away from home for work and listening on a tablet to a live recording So I'll wait for the album proper before making any final judgement. On the plus side I do love Fort Knox and really like She Taught Me How To Fly now as well.

Interesting that the official clip of Be Careful is very groovy...but the live version felt more atmospheric.

The songs are all right, i guess. The one thing i don't like is his voice. I don't think it suits these kind of songs...Even if the instrumental is dreamy, his voice makes the song sound like a generic pop tune. Kevin Parker from Tame Impala has a GREAT voice for songs like this.

So far...
1. Dead in the Water (I'm a sucker for this kind of music) 2. Holy Mountain and Beautiful World (both have grown on me massively) 3. The Man Who Built the Moon (clip sounds gorgeous) 4. Be Careful What You Wish For (hoping for good production) 5. Fort Knox (also grown on me, but I'm not a fan of this kind of music usually) 6. (Tied) She Taught Me How to Fly and Black & White Sunshine (both just aren't doing it for me...make no emotional connection with me)

B&ws sounds like Noel trying to be like Incubus imo. Idk, it feels kinda all over the place. It'll probably change when I hear the album version.

I wonder if Be Careful What You Wish For is the song Noel wanted Damon Albarn to play the melodica On.

Don't understand why people are comparing AYW to WBTM. I mean, what's there to compare? Might as well compare a Marilyn Manson album to Kenny Loggins.
They're extremely different. Plus we haven't even heard Noel's album yet. We've heard 3 songs properly and a couple of live versions, which hardly ever sound the same on the album.

I mean, what were the chances of that? Mind blowing.

Kevin Parker from Tame Impala has a GREAT voice for songs like this. I'm tired so I first read that as "The songs are alt right, I guess", which made me laugh. Now I'm wondering whether I should make my own alternative tracklisting or not Edit: What I've come up with so far: White Sunshine and She Taught Me How To Heil.
