He says that he's not a great guitarist and neither a great singer. But guitar solos like Live Forever or Don't Look Back In Anger proves that he's quit amazing. Might not be as complex as John Squire but even though he is simple with his songs, the solos fits the songs and sounds great with the songs mostly. BTW: On Chasing Yesterday he said that the first record was great but there was missing guitar solos,so the second added a couple more. I really hope that WBTM? got great solos too,and tbh hearing 4/11 songs without solos I'm starting to think that there won't be that many

He's a writer of great guitar parts, as opposed to a great guitarist.

Good instinct on melody, which allows him to play very good riffs and patterns that sound amazing, but aren't difficult. Or at least he used to play those. Now he's now of a solid rhythm guitarist....

Great songwriter, average guitarist.
And by songwriting I mean guitar parts too.

Great songwriter who is able to write very simple but melodic and memorable guitar parts. Nothing too flashy, but they serve the songs well.
Also has enough of an own style.

He's good enough to have created the solos to some of the most memorable pop songs of the last 50 years. He may not be a virtuoso in the same league as Brian May or Steve Hackett, but he's definitely great.

Yes, but Gem and Andy are much better.

He's a writer of great guitar parts, as opposed to a great guitarist. That's it. He's obviously far from a virtuoso, but a cursory listen to 90's Oasis shows you that he had a fantastic ear for a solo.
