It's difficult to really rate of these songs without hearing them all within the context of the album. I'm going to wait to make a judgement.

isnt the bass player a dude from scissor sisters? has anyone found a way to make a joke out of that? didnt like the song. sounds like a song my dad and uncles would play if they were artsy and formed a band.

It's good up until it starts repeating itself over and over. The lyrics are a bunch of cliched Noelisms too. He is more than capable of writing decent to good lyrics when he feels like it. These just feel like they are the first lines that popped into his head.

Somehow the twiddling of the dials will make this color by numbers into a Picasso I definitely don't hate the songs at all. I'll admit they aren't as immediately accessible as his work usually is. However, this is clearly some type of "concept" album for Noel and it's difficult to get the full "concept" without hearing the album in it's entirety. I guess I could just dismiss it as shit straight off and there's a strong possibility I may come to that conclusion anyway at some point......but I prefer to make an a full assessment rather than a knee jerk dismissal of something that immediately fell short of my idea of what Noel's music should sound like.

I love long melodic choruses. This song delivers. Have to rate it an 8. I'm confident the album version won't disappoint.

Really frustrated by these "Whalallahhhhh", or "The one I love", but it sounds the same. The guitar part is basically coming from the eighties I don't like, too repetitive...

Kind of amazed that some people are rating this an 8+/10. I understand we all have different opinions, but are we really going to say this song is almost as good at Let It Be, Imagine, Champagne Supernova, Here Comes the Sun, Free Fallin’, Layla, etc? All which could be considered as 10/10s by a significant amount of people?
I think some people let their love for Noel influence their rating of his music too much. Or we need to rethink the way we rate music.

Shouldn't we wait for the album version? No, I don’t think so. If a rock band can’t represent a song live then it shouldn’t be sung. Guitar music is mostly a live medium anyway, so this song should sound BETTER live. Noel is great and all that but this song sinks like a stone. 4/10

Gave it a 5/10. Another song that barely scrapes a 6/10 average (and this poll didn't have zeroes in like the last one). On an Oasis forum that is worrying.

I’ve just changed my initial rating of 4 to a 6 - it’s a bit of an ear worm - best thing in it for me is Jess’s vocals, the drums and the Cure-esque guitars - after WalterGlass pointed it out I now only hear wah-la-la

Pepper because they can't represent the songs live.

Gorgeous song, as it turns out! Gem's guitar tone is out of this world.

I mean, I wouldn't even consider an 8/10 almost as good as a 10/10. 10/10 is on a different level. 9/10 is close, but flawed enough in some way that it's never quite able to tip over the scale. 8/10 is a solid track. It's an ear worm, well developed and comes together nicely enough that it's a good song, but still very flawed. For me, a 10 point rating scale is most equivalent to something like the Richter scale. I rated this song 8/10 and I have no blinding love for Noel. If he produces something I'm not fond of, I have no problems trashing it. Holy Mountain, Dream On, The Mexican...among others.

These songs don't come close to the level of an 8, 9 or 10 to me, because they don't compare at all to those upper echelon of songs in any category for me, but to each there own. I have this same exact argument for movies....

Nonsense mate, that’s a reply from left field, and you didn’t even respond to my point, and you’ve brought in a disjointed example that I’m not even going to begin to touch. I like Noel too but this song is weak tea.

There are plenty of songs that don't work well live, are hard to replicate due to whatever reason or just simply sound better on record (which is the majority of the songs, actually).

I'd say if your song sounds better live, then you did something very wrong in the studio.

Maybe we should only watch movies whose scenes are easy to replicate on stage....

So you’re saying then that Noel went out of his way to debut a song on live TV that “doesn’t work well live?” And you’re ok with that?
