Leeds United forward Alan Smith has hinted that he may move to the continent this summer, with the Elland Road side heading for Division One.
The 23-year-old England international is one of several Whites stars set to move on and Smith thinks that Spain or Italy would be good destinations for him.
He told The Sun: "I would love to play in one of the other top leagues in Europe. I am ready to play abroad.
"I have to go, I have to do the right thing for my career. I never thought I would ever leave Leeds. I thought I would spend my whole career there.
"What's happened at Leeds is disappointing, but at the same time I am excited at where the next move could be.
"I watch the Spanish football on Saturday and Sunday nights and have often dreamed of playing out there.
"Italy would be a great place to go too. There is nothing better than testing yourself against the world's best defenders."

He's a good player but he wouldn't cut it in Europe no way. Look at Robbie Keane and his big money move to Inter Millan, he's at spurs now and they are shit! McManaman failed to impress in Europe too although Smiths a better player than him. If he wants to make an impression in the England team then he needs to stay in England at least until he breaks into the Team and gets a foothold.
And as much as he loves Leeds he sounds as if he's forgot them already, I bet he dusted off his passport as soon as he got in from the Bolton thrashing.
