Saw this on insta yesterday. Shocking part is the bit where the guy on keys tells about Noel being in a strange chamber and forces him kneel, chant, and have Noel touch his shoulders before playing. What in the actual fuck is that about?

What in the actual fuck is that about? edit: Did every musician working with Noel do this? I'd laff if Paul Weller had to kneel before Noel

Noel does seem to be disappearing up his own arse .....love how the female singer is said to have created the vocal that made the track (thought Noel wrote all his own music lol)

Makes far more sense that Power influenced this track rather than Fade. Not sure where that Fade news came from originally? Didn't really hear any Fade influence on it when I heard the full track but Power is certainly in there.
Power is a beast track.

This is really cool, but the way Noel and David Holmes come across really rub me the wrong way.

Bit pretentious innit. I mean I guess this kind of stuff is par for the course for most artists/bands. Still kinda sad seeing Noel go that route, although not surprising at all tbh.

Seems the decline in Noels standards (so far) have coincided with him no longer being the man in charge.

Separately, I thought the kneeling bit was a funny recording anecdote. Not uncommon for bands and artists to develop stupid rituals. It keeps recording light and funny. Recording is a grueling process and it needs some levity. People taking this a little bit too seriously

In my experience, weirder things happen in the studio that would never make it on a documentary. Take that how you will Edit: Actually watch any documentary about Brian Wilson in the studio. He'd show up and if the aura wasn't right that day, he'd leave. He made his session musicians wear firefighter outfits during recording one time, etc.

Obviously an extreme example But I've seen bands adopt mascots or eat the same meal everyday while recording or have good luck spots. Most of that stuff never makes it out of a studio. It's like being in a sport's team locker/dressing room.

Still can't get in which way this is a Noel's track. I know you might tell me he made decisions as regards the production, the instruments choice and so on but he should at least have added a guitar riff on it, but this way ... this is kinda weird.

This forum is polarizing. Seems like you can’t have a genuine opinion without someone accusing you of picking sides. I was honest about Liam’s voice on BE (an utter embarrassment then, but vastly improved), and I’m honest now. Noel is a different person. Watch recent interviews and ones from just a couple of years ago. The charm is gone and the pretention factor is off the charts. And that’s cool, man. We all mature and grow, but for a personality to disappear and be replaced is a different thing all together.
Been following Oasis since about ‘96 and been a fanatic since my first gig in 2001. This Noel is a different person and anyone who says it’s normal or cool for him to make a musician kneel and chant before a studio session is a maniac; I couldn’t care less which eccentric “artists” do more bizarre shit — they haven’t built a career on being one of the lads.
