Nearly everyday? I highly doubt that. You're embarrassing yourself. Not as embarrassing as you

Do you think Spaneli is incapable of identifying the following? "prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior." It's not a case of deciding what is, the above tells you what racism is. I wouldn't try to reason with them Tom. You might be deemed "houlier-than-thou" for defending a black person's perspective on the matters of racism. I'm sure I would never be able to judge prejudice....discrimination...antagonism...from my position. I'm sure they've experienced a lot more of it themselves. Can't wait for any Hispanics to roll into here and also get their views on racism shut down as "houlier-than-thou." Remember, people who have been profiled can't define what's happened to them. Only the people who haven't been. That's very important. You know nothing about me or my background either. But because I’m white, you assume I can’t sympathize. When you say you experience racism every day, that’s an enormous claim. How can I trust that what you experience is real racism? Am I just supposed to believe you? Why should I? And why does that give your opinion more validity than mine?

Just because you're black doesn't mean you get to decide who's racist. Sounds very "holier-than-thou" I read this and laughed The person who gets followed by the police at night is being "holier-than-thou" when saying their experience with racism MIGHT be a bit more informative than someone who probably hasn't. I laughed at your comment too, we're even. I still think i can judge what racism is thanks, despite my non black skin. "I know because i'm black" is not an argument.

Morgan Freeman just got accused of sexual harassment by multiple women. I'm not sure he's the moral high ground anyone wants to point to But anyways, Morgan Freeman's entire argument is laughable. Later, he said this: When asked by Lemon whether race is a factor in wealth distribution in the United States, Freman said, “Today? No. You and I. We’re proof.” “Why would race have anything to do with it?” said Freeman. “Put your mind to what you want to do and go for that. It’s kind of like religion to me. It’s a good excuse for not getting there.” That kind of trope is as old as racism: "I made it, so there can't be racism.' That is, the above meme is a catchy quote, but the logic behind it is flawed especially when you consider what Freeman is actually saying.

Like logically,
Me: "That volcano is hot."
Other person: "You can't define whether a volcano is hot"
Me: "I think I can. I live by one."
Other person: "That's not an argument"
Me: "Riiiiiighhhht"

I've lived most of my life poor and homeless and now I'm a respected film critic. I've gotten a lot of help along the way, and I've done a lot for myself. I'm the last person you want to call victim. Besides, did I ever say that racism kept me from succeeding? Nope. Was I blaming society for my lot? Nope. So, I think you need to look up what racism is and what a victim is too while you're at it. Like, I'm pretty sure you're close to using the *cough* *cough* "race card" accusation. Because right now, you're already 2/3 of the way there.

But if someone not from this country came to the South in the 1940's, they wouldn't ask a white guy living in New York what racism is. They'd ask the guy who saw his uncle get lynched in Alamaba. And if that sounds ludicrous, then I think we'll agree to disagree.

None of that absolves you from the fact that you have the ability to live your life like a victim. There are endless amounts of successful people who will continue to say they are being oppressed by a different race (mostly that they are oppressed by white people.) this happens so often that many white people gain a sense of guilt for things they’ve never done, which is ridiculous.

Hey buddy, racism is still going on. I don't think Spaneli needs absolution, he never said he was a victim just that it exists and is fairly commonplace. You don't have to look to hard in the US or UK to work that one out.

Of course it exists and Trump might well be/almost certainly is, but saying "it does i know because I'm black" is akin to me saying "it doesn't i know because I'm white" Neither has any validity.

You don't have to look to hard in the US or UK to work that one out. Believe me, I understand racism is still around. From my own personal experience (which I don’t think matters much to most on here because nearly everyone disagrees with me and I’m white) I’m told to check my privilege, and that I could never understand the hardships of other races.

Never said racism exists because I'm black. That's a misquotation. As Tom pointed to, through lived experience I'm probably more familiar with it than those who are white. ie, "I know because I'm black."

Thinking something was exaggerated and over blown doesn't mean I denied it happened. That other shit was all projected onto me because I dared to say the 6 million number was "fabricated". And because I call bullshit on the silly globe you believe in so much, doesn't mean I think the moon is made of cheese. But you got a like, so well done you.
