So take all guns away from civilians? Because that’s the only way I can see that happening. Do you agree with all civilians having their guns taken away? I think anyone that really desperately needs to buy a gun should go under some kind of assessment in order to do so. You said earlier that mental health is the bigger issue here, and if that’s really the case then the fact that people with such problems are able to buy a gun so easily is ludicrous. If there are controls put in place to prevent the ease of buying guns then I’m all for it. Kids shouldn’t die in schools, and if it takes civilians giving up their guns to make this happens then so be it. You do understand that is the textbook definition of fascism right? |

I believe it’s more than just a gun issue so I’m trying to understand what else could cause these shootings. But go ahead, just keep saying I’m ignoring criticism you appear to be asking but by making the false equivalence to knives and cars argument and talking of criticism of gun access laws as 'going down a rabbit hole' it's clear to me where this is going. I don't get the mental health argument, because you're basically preaching for the choir. It's not like the groups pushing for stricter gun laws are filled with people that couldn't give a shit about providing better mental health care. I don’t get your point. My point is that I don’t believe it is just a gun issue. It’s many issues coming together to cause these shootings. Solely blaming access to firearms as the culprit is a waste of time, in my eyes. But I’m a dumb American, so what do I know, right? |

it is not a cute game. He's a toddler, he shouldn't be doing that like it's something normal. he's just a little kid and adults are supposed to protect them and not do that idiotic thing, and especially avoid giving guns to kids or teenagers They’re at a store and the gun is not loaded, with an adult watching. What if his family are sport hunters who want to teach their kids how to hunt for the future? Once you write off an entire group of people because of the actions of others (who they aren’t connected to) you go down a dark path of thinking. if I were a sport hunter I will never teach my 4 yeard old how to handle a gun, in fact I would have them locked up far far away from him. Thankfully we are a different society. We may have a lot of issues but we are not obsessed with guns and I despise sport hunters. they should be in jail |

I really thought there'd be some changes to gun laws after the Newtown shooting several years, when really young children were killed, but there wasn't.....
The more recent shooting at Parkland involved kids who are around voting age and can make a difference....you can see changes and different thinking amongst younger people; things will change, it's just gonna take some time, many years, possibly - some ideas and people not only need to be voted out, they need to be bred out to have noticeable change....

This child probably hasn't mastered wiping his own ass yet but he can properly operate a rifle. If you can't see how fucked up that is then nobody can help you. If he never kills anybody with that weapon (unless he is in danger), what’s the issue with him knowing how to handle the firearm? |

Yeah, most people that shoot people up are probably mentally ill, but with proper background checks they can't get a gun legally. They're still mentally ill and that's a problem if they don't get help, but at least no one else has to die because of it. And yes, some of these people might still get hold of one illegally and kill some people anyway, but the number would at least decrease, don't you think? And if the total number decreases with even just one shooting, don't you think it would be worth it(enforcing proper background checks)? |
