Yeah, was thrilled to see the LA gig added, then appalled at the GA prices. Crazy. Can't afford that.

That's outrageous. And he is criticizing Noel for his VIP packages?

Wait until Liam’s next tour in UK. Ticket prices will double. This one was just sounding out the demand.

I've always been dubious about how much control artist have over their own ticket prices. It's supply and demand. If prices are too high to sell then I think it's a case of the marketing team fucking up rather than an artist being greedy.

I think Debbie is setting the ticket prices. I refuse to think negative thoughts about superstar Debbie!

What negative thoughts? As Liam's manager, Debbie's job is to take care of him and look out for his interests.

To be fair, if you look at the descriptions for those $110-225 tickets, they say price goes up and down based on demand. So I don't know if he actually has any control over those prices. "Platinum Tickets are tickets that are dynamically priced up and down based on demand. Platinum Tickets are not part of VIP packages - they are tickets only"

I didn’t realize the newly added US dates cost so much more than the shows initially announced a few months ago. I’ve got 2 GA tickets in DC for $110 total which isn’t completely unreasonable

Anyone know the likelihood of getting a ticket outside Terminal 5?

I agree. My ticket for Amsterdam gig is 39,60 Euro, but ticketmaster has 2 other options. 1. with hotel and dinner - 270 Euro 2. with hotel - 215 Euro My thought when I saw that yesterday morning was: WTF?!If I go to a gig, I go to a gig. I don't need dinner in a restaurant beforehand and I wouldn't pay such a high amount of money even for Mr. Weller or my forever guitar hero. If anyone wants this kind of tickets and can afford, it's fine for them, but not for me.

artists are usually booked via an agency or whoever is organizing a tour or a single concert. the artist recieves a certain amount of money (a lump sum, if you will), which is independent from the actual ticket sales (in theory, no single ticket could be sold, the artist would still receive the full amount that was agreed upon; in reality, contractual clauses might prevent that from happening, that's why sometimes concerts are being cancelled; the artist might then only get a low percentage of the agreed money).
so what i'm saying is, the artist (in this case liam) does not have anything to do with how the ticket prices look like. indirectly, though, he has in a way, because the ticket prices might depend on how much an artist asks for. but there are other factors, e.g. how much it costs to rent the venue.

I think, too, that setting ticket prices are affected by how much it costs to put on the gig. The crew and the musicians have to be paid, even if the artist has to take up the slack. The record company can't rely on CD sales to support a tour--too many people are downloading, especially from leaks. If there's money to be made, it's got to be done on the road. When we go to a gig, we prefer to take a hotel room so we can walk to and from the concert, we do like a nice dinner, and there might be a plane flight if I'm particularly hell-bent on going, so the ticket price is usually a small part of that package. I'd say $200 for a close seat is OK for Noel or Liam. It's certainly pale compared to prices for the Stones (who are worth it), US (who are probably worth it), or Madonna (who is so completely unworthy that you'd have to pay me considerably to go see her). If I was Bill Gates, though, I would pay Oasis big bucks to just put up with each other and be my house band.

If the charges from some gigs rise, then Liam can fewer gigs, look after his voice, and maybe perform longer sets. There are plenty of festivals in the mix for 2018, and their charges are lower.
I'm keen to see the voice in good order for as long as poss
