There exists some footage of oasis' rehearsel for MTV unplugged, we briefly see liam singing live forver and wonderwall.
I was wondering if there exists MORE footage of the rehearsal. It would be nice to see liam singing wonderwall for what I assume is one of the first times.

MTV Unplugged was at the end of their tour.

In 1996 Oasis were set to perform on 'MTV Unplugged'. Long story short, Liam was drunk and Noel sang. However, Liam did sing bits and pieces of rehearsals. Any links and videos would be greatly appreciated.

People tend not to respond to threads that hadn't been used for a while, does everybody have to be so condescending.

Thanks for sharing that, I’d never seen it before. It’s not hard to see why America pretty much blacklisted Oasis after that summer: mtv unplugged, the VMAs, the canceled gigs thereafter. But I don’t think anyone expected the American music industry to hold such a grudge for so long against anything Gallagher. There’s pockets of support and long time fans but to this day, Oasis remain to many in the US a one hit to one album band.

I'll put that in my 'L4E rule book ' along with 'having an opinion that differs from mine is trolling'.

That must have been some bender Liam was on. Showing up 4-5 days in a row in the SAME clothing. Liam post Knebworth was really something else. MTV debacle. Missed flight to America and first tour date. Shows up drunk and spits on VMA stage. And we wonder why Oasis disappeared from that network soon after.....

^ Dennis Miller: "Wooowwwwww... he spilled a beeeeerrr".
Possibly the only time Miller was ever funny.

There was an article around 97/98 which interviewed someone at MTV. They mentioned they filmed Oasis’ (with Liam singing) rehearsal of the full set the day of the show at the Royal Festival Hall and were contemplating using that footage and just editing in shots of the crowd.
That must be where the footage of him singing Round Our Way on the RFH stage comes from.

He went from being unknown to a celebrity like fame (in the UK) in such a short period of time. This in his early 20's, and he also had a tough up-bringing, which doesn't help one form maturity. He wasn't prepared for that pressure, at all, and it showed in stuff like that. Noel might have not done stuff like this, but his comments, during this time-period, when already close to 30 in age, aren't very mature as well. They were both struggling with the fame, in different ways, due to their different personalities. They went from being two guys, that came from a tough up-bringing, working regular jobs to stars so quick. Their minds didn't even have time to adjust and Liam being the youngest, took more time to do so. When you couple this with drugs and the lot, you have a very volatile situation. It's not a good look, obviously, those antics, but if you look at it, with a rational train of thought, you can see picture why it happened.

I remember in the #irc times someone claim to have Hello with Liam singing but the guy never show up so it was a scam but i dont have at this moment which audio bootleg there is a clip from MTV news around 96 where you can listen another rehearsal where Liam sings. I never seen that video clip where Kirt Loder was talking about the unplugged. Let me try to find the bootleg or if anyone know about it would be fast and great.

I wouldn't say Oasis completely disappeared from MTV in the US after those incidents. They did a 20-25 mins documentary on Be Here Now that John Norris did which was similar to the one he did on WTSMG. I remember because I recorded them both on VHS back in the day. Ahhh VHS...don't forget to rewind! I also remember DYKWIM making their top 10 video countdowns often and even seeing DGA and AATW videos on pretty often. But yeah, no denying it probably had a negative affect on how the everyday American viewed Oasis and they slowly fell off the popular scene with the rise of boy bands, rap/rock and whatever else garbage was dominating the airwaves at the time.
I personally loved Noel's version and used to listen to it all the time ripped on bootleg CDs or watching on the old VHS tape. But it's nice to see Liam get a shot at some redemption 23 years later.
Here is the old Be Here Now documentary that was on MTV if anyone is interested in some nostalgia. Gotta love the tracking corrections at the beginning of it.

Yeah I mean they were sorta forced to do some BHN hype along with everyone else. It wasn’t as vast as MG. Those videos came and went very fast on air. DYKWIM was just too damn long for them to consider multiple airings a day. I remember AATW more on VH1 pop up video that being on proper mtv.
