Are people genuinely trying to say that its just the words that sound similar with the Ricky Martin comparisons?
My first reaction was, wtf that chorus is exactly like that Ricky Martin song and then i come on here and around social media and its full of the same comparisons.
But yeah, okay if you want to believe its just the use of the same words then fine.

I'm really glad I slept through most of this. Reading back through it was a headache.... Not worth reading Except my bits, I'm a delight.

Was looking through the Youtube credits for this tune, and I noticed a familiar name: Tristin Norwell. For all you Embrace fans out there, he's the one who produced Drawn from Memory, and here he's credited as an engineer. Both Holy Mountain and New Adam New Eve are indeed painted with the same bright colors and supercharged with the same kind of energy. Great choice bringing him on board. Nicely spotted! Embrace fanboy here

Forum user Spanelli, is manic defender of all things Noel just part of your natural modus operandi? Or do you need a hug right now? I gave Liam the same benefit of the doubt on his promotion for As You Were. I also gave Beady Eye the same benefit of the doubt with BTL. And I have said that I understand why people don't like Holy Mountain (I'm not trying to convince people otherwise. My most liked post of the last couple of days is the first post of the HM rating thread), but I don't think it's complete shit, I actually like it, and it's early in this album cycle. I think those are fair points for me to argue, and they're points I did argue for Liam too. No hug then eh. I can’t catch a break right now.

But yeah, okay if you want to believe its just the use of the same words then fine. Obviously it's not just the same words. The rapidity and rhythm of the words, they're both single syllable words, and both stressed syllables. But for the sake of this argument, the two songs aren't completely similar. It is really only two words of the larger song. I think that's the divide. Is that when people have been saying Ricky Martin, it's been sounding as if they're saying the whole song sounds like Ricky Martin (which obviously isn't the case), rather than saying that the re-occruing phrase sounds like Ricky Martin. I think the difference is purely definition and descriptive at this point, which causing everyone to argue in circles (including me). So same old story on this forum

That would be in my honorable mentions. Really underrated. Curious to see where you go with the top 10, have some heavy hitters 20-10..... Need to look at Tom Hanks' filmography to fine tune my own. Recently watched 'Spielberg', really good....Tom Hanks is in it. Anyway, back to Noél..... God bless. I'm glad Noel is trying this kind of thing, but don't think it's first single material. It's too bombastic for my liking--I don't think Noel has the voice or the shamelessness to carry it off. If there were some massive hook to pull it all together, that'd be one thing... It's not like it's a turgid monstrosity like Force of Nature. It has vitality and verve, not to mention Noel's trademark song-building skills. I like it, I think most of the mockery is nonsense from trolls, but just don't get why this is the standout track. As for Ricky Martin, I'm not going to comment on whether it sound like She Bangs (I don't think it does), but regardless, Noel has been doing this for years, pulling hooks from embarrassingly unhip sources (Wham, It's Raining Men, David Essex). Examples? (You got me interested).

I wasn't sure how to feel about on first listen, but I like it. To me it is not such a leap forward as I think it sounds very reminiscent of that Plastic Betrand song from the 70s.

If it wasn't for some people I wouldn't know that Martin has more songs than one.

Shit, I haven’t even heard his name in 12–15 years.

I will correct myself then... This song is Ricky Martin doing Ramones in a Circus during Carnival. But I don't take it seriously and I kinda like the sillyness (bunch of it) to a certain point. Def not his best thing. Far from it...

I do like the song but there are two things which I think may consciously or unconsciously trouble people. The mix and style is a little muddy and also it's quite difficult to sing-a-long too. The lyrics to most of it aren't that easy to make out. Does anyone think those may be the main elements which make it difficult for some people to connect to?

I honestly dont even know what i think to it. You know what, if it wasnt for that Ricky Martin bit it'd be a great teaser for whats to come and it'd sit happily in the playlist as something new to listen to. I just cannot get over that bit. I love the sound of the woman on the flute and as the song gets towards the end i actually think its a bit like Sundara Karma sound? The one biggest crime in all this would be if Noel thinks he should never go down this road again just because people dont like the songs. OK, I've done this comparison before to It's Raining Men but here's an even more direct example. Below is the video to The Pointer Sisters' Jump, which was a hit and reached #3 in 1984. If you go to the 55 second mark, you will most likely hear what I heard the first time I heard Bag It Up, which was an undeniable link between the two. Do you think this makes Bag It Up any lesser of a song?

Seen tons of positive comments on social media, a lot from people who say they aren’t a big fan of Oasis/NGHFB.

Still don't know if I like this song or not.
