ah god bless ya Walty boi Never a bother. Sounds fun live. I can imagine myself enjoying it at live shows but also having to cope with my inner-monologue telling me to grow the fuck up and how ridiculous my dancing looks.

Noel did a setlist change in the middle of a tour!?!
That settles it, he's back on coke.

If Liam had released anything this bad he'd be crucified. Terrible. Awful. Rubbish. FWIW is worse. Talk about boring. It completely fits Liam's own definition of "beige". That live video of HM sounds awesome by the way.

Try leaving HM alone for a day or two and then revisiting it, worked for me!!
And I like it so much more now. It’s just a bit of fun really!
The production is somewhat frustrating and this I struggle to get over, but I do not want another Oasis type album thank you very much, we have AYW for that. I just hope this mix was intentional for this track and that it is not the template for the rest of the album, judging by the teaser trailer I do not think it is.
Yes it’s different, yes it’s muddy but after having a break from it and revisiting it... I like it, it’s fun.

I gave it a few more spins just now, I don't mind it but a little indifferent about it. I can certainly see why some like it and why others don't. What makes me laugh is I'm pretty sure a few who are praising the balls off it have hammered stuff sounding retro before. Is it different for Noel? Maybe a little but this doesn't sound like Be Here Now it sounds like a tune being played in a 60's dance hall with people jiving to it! I don't mind a bit of retro stuff so no problems here. Every time I here the vocal on the verses I can't get C'est La Vie by the Stereophonics out of my head . I probably prefer that though. I agree. I don't think it sounds like Be Here Now either. Some of the comparisons on both sides have been completely off. I do think that it has that classic Noel euphoric feeling, but that doesn't automatically equate to BHN. I also don't think it's particularly experimental, but then again it's the single. If there was going to be a non-experimental track released, it would be this one. But I do think it does sound different for him. Not a very guitar heavy track, it's hard to think of a Noel track with less guitar than this one.. It's definitely more chunky too, and the interpolation of the whistle feels like a very un-Noel type deal too. The whistle reminds me of the kids toy looped from the track Be Here Now (oops! There goes another BHN comparison)...

Live debut from U2 support in Argentina - That was fucking awesome. Love how he points to his temple when he sings "I'll put a melody inside of your head". It's clear that Noel is having a lot of fun with this tune. Makes me even angrier that he's passed up my city for the second time in a row.

Was looking through the Youtube credits for this tune, and I noticed a familiar name: Tristin Norwell. For all you Embrace fans out there, he's the one who produced Drawn from Memory, and here he's credited as an engineer. Both Holy Mountain and New Adam New Eve are indeed painted with the same bright colors and supercharged with the same kind of energy. Great choice bringing him on board.

Oh, and according to the credits, there's apparently guitar and piano somewhere in the mix. Prize for the first person to find them?

There really isn't an ounce of fat on this, is there? It's tight af! Which is perfect for a pop song, but I really hope that Noel lets the more experimental bits of Who Built the Moon wander a bit more. Give them a little more space, a little less structure, make them less straightforward.

I reckon HM is the most straightforward pop song on the album, which is why its been given first release as a single. The rest of the album is going to be much more experimental.

Had this been any other song, I'd say that the deliberate lack of promotion was a great move, and a great respite from the embarrassingly stone-age marketing of the last albums. But Holy Mountain sounds so much like a world-conquering single that I'm absolutely flabbergasted that Noel's management isn't pushing it as hard as they can, trying to turn it into the biggest hit possible.
