Honestly, Holy Mountain is absolutely dripping with happiness like nothing else since the Morning Glory days. And the WTSMG stuff often has an air of melancholy underneath the superficial positivity. There's not even a hint of sadness in Holy Mountain.
Actually, "dripping" isn't the right word. "Bursting" is.

Holy Mountain is not an album tho Didn’t mean just on here, think people OTT on here early on, sane people in 6 months will say Liam album average at best, same cycle every time for latter Oasis albums, people on here even went ape for DGSS : ) I don't know why you keep dragging Liam and Liam's album into a thread about Noel's newest single. You're a broken record man.

not b-side material on an album full of b-sides? well, yeah... I think this new one from Noel is better than anything on AYW. I don’t have any allegiances for one Gallagher over the other, truly don’t care about that. I prefer this because it’s different, love the production, whereas AYW is a decent album, but nothing special. The only negative people on here have Liam avatars. I have a Noel one but I give AYW some credit, there’s a few decent songs but general consensus is around 6/10.Just can’t get away from fact Liam didn’t write any of the good songs off AYW but that’s just a sticking point for me.

It really brightened my morning today, just makes me smile and feel happy to be alive Is there gonna be a video for this one? It should be a carnival of all bright colours lead by Noel in all black, with everyone going absolutely mental and him just looking cool as fuck. The more energy the better - this song is Life in Technicolour!

Which is why I have been saying all day long that this song could easily live on that album.

I'm not sure about this one, perhaps it's that flute reminding me of the traffic jams caused by Orange Walks 😂😂😂 Can't say it dampens my enthusiasm for the album though, it's been a long time since a Gallagher's first single off a new album reflected what I felt was the strongest track.

I'm pretty surprised at all the vitriol and negativity being typed out here. I don't remember people hating TDOYAM or ITHOTM this much.

Death of You & Me is very good, Heat of the Moment is okay, but both are safe and inoffensive songs, much like everything Gallagher related post 90s. But he's gone far out there with this one. And it's a joy. Everything before seems so tame in comparison.

Noel can't win it seems. People on this forum have been asking for years for a change in direction, something new. He comes back with this, probably the most uplifting track since the days of stay young and round are way. Put the headphones on, crank it up to 10 and the song will blow you away. A great lead off single. Far better than what I was expecting.

You can hear SO MUCH David Holmes in all this new stuff, he's really taken an active role in the creative process. This song could fit nicely on the first half of The Holy Pictures.
And I fucking love The Holy Pictures.

I really don't get why people think Holy Mountain is a radical departure for Noel. Just like As You Were, it's the same style that he's been writing in for the last 20+ years. Except better.

Yeah, it's really not that different. I wonder how people are going to react when they hear something really out there like Fort Knox or something?

He's been writing this type of music for 20 years - Let Forever Be, Setting Sun, Falling Down (just to name a few).
