Noel talking about the tune on Moyles. The flute is sampled. In the press release it was stated that "Holy Mountain is a game of ‘spot the obscure sample’ amidst a joyous wall of sound. Symptomatic of the unhurried back and forth between him and Holmes, Gallagher says of the latter track: “David played me the sample, so I worked out the chords and we demoed just a few, short minutes of it, taking it away on tour and playing with it. When it became a song back in Belfast it was so joyous, I just had to do it justice. What’s more joyous than being in love, baby? So, I wrote a song about love and it’s one of the best things that I’ve ever done.”" So I assume we'll have to chase the sample! My first instinct is the flute. Everything else seems to have been recorded together and doesn't have the cut-and-paste aesthetic that most songs comprised of samples tend to have. I so called this.

Not digging it at all, reeks of pure cheddar for me. Noel-by-numbers lyrics (Although I concede they're hardly the focal point). That tin-whistle is just plain annoying. Very disappointed but at least the other tracks in the teaser clip sound much more promising.

This song is GARBAGE and if wasn't from Noel you would agree. Search your feelings, you know it to be true. I love Blur/Oasis, but I didn't like WGTP. I didn't like Humanz. I don't like some Oasis songs. I don't like everything that my fav artist do. This for me. Liking a band doesn't mean you have to like everything they release. A friend asked me the other day whether there's any band I like that I like all of their albums and the only one (out of around 600+ bands that I own records by) I could think of was the Smiths. Everyone releases a dud now and then but their catalogue is perfect.

Sounds like Noel's having fun. Really enjoy the bass and brass in the intro verse and the beach boy's woo's. Wish the mastering had a bit more dynamics to it. Can't help but think this song could use a little bit more tension to it, the flute break is a bit short and still pretty l o u d, perhaps that will be pull off live? Cause this song will be a beast live with that refrain and rhythmic sway. Sounds like a cosmic fifties rockabilly tumble. Yeah it reminds me of Rick Martin and Come Dancing a bit its melodic construction, but Noel's always been a capital P Pop songwriter, even if he makes Rock n' roll music. Its grown on me, and I've always loved Noel throwing the kitchen at it in terms of instrumentation.

Imagine seeing Chris and Gem play this live Beady Lite - Bring The (Holy Mointain) Light I don't get this 'dig' at all. Beady Lite is a good thing - because it contains less Beady Eye than original Beady Eye. (I like some BE songs btw).

This song blows away anything from Liam’s album and I like most, like half of Liam’s album.
Well done Noel.

I don't hear Mucky Fingers at all. That song had a real Velvet Underground (specifically I'm Waiting for the Man) feel about it. This doesn't have that. I think it's the monotone verse. I was thinking Mucky Fingers, as well. There's enough people saying it that it must be there but for the life of me I can't hear it.

really, it's so much more interesting than liam's album. i don't think it's the best song ever, nor do i think that it's close to noel's best efforts ever. it probably wouldn't even be a b-side in the oasis haydays, but it's good to hear something different. i approve that song!

Posting this again, cause while everyone talks about Ricky Martin, HM is a huge ripoff of that song. Plastic Bertrand is considered a huge joke in french speaking coutries. A one man hit wonder who did'nt even sing on this tune (there was a lawsuit between him and his producer, who is the real singer on it). The brass, the chords, the singing, the oooohoooo, everything is here.

I really like the horns right at the start before the first vocals kick in. They really set the mood.

You gotta be stoned if you think this is better than everything from Liam's album It's apples and oranges really. Place this on AYW and it wouldn't fit. It would stick out like a sore thumb, not because it is bad, but because it would have no place on the album. I'd imagine if you were to place I've All I Need on WBTM the same thing would happen. It was one thing to compare DGSS and NGHFB cause those two could have essentially been Oasis 8 if spliced together. But from what we've heard from WBTM and AYW, they are quite different. That makes it different to compare one by one side by side if that makes sense.

I think it's good that these two albums will be so different - it's gonna be so fun! If Noel wrote 'a traditional alum' it would be so boring because Liam already delivered 'a classical Gallagher album'.
