Absolutely it’s a false equivalence. I just want Liam to get hired help to assist him with songwriting or co-songwriting, just as I’m delighted that Noel finally let someone push him and collaborate - Noel isn’t making anything like this record without DH. And that’s fine! Gotcha. Though personally I would have rather seen Liam collaborating with someone who is not a company writer. Btw this Michael-guy co-wrote some songs with Jeff Buckley so I guess he's all right. And Andrew Wyatt worked with Carl Barat so he's alright too.

Jesus. I wonder how nervous Noel must be after seeing this reaction to his premier.

Anybody with a musically-attuned mind worked out the chords/progression yet? ? I'll do that late afternoon if not already made.

Kurstin is a bit more than that, he's had his own projects like the Bird and the Bee and has produced the Foo Fighters' new record. I don't really see it as much different to Noel using Holmes.

Love Liam love Noel
But not keen on this new track at all. From that ‘trailer’ for the new album it sounds very exciting, like most of what I heard
But this new song ? Urgh. Not a fan
Loved Noel’s last lead singles from his albums but this one surprised me. Just not keen at all which is a shame

See this has turned into a Noel/Liam thing...... fact is Liam can’t write a whole album and most it seems think the Liam written tracks on AYW are the weaker tracks. He had help, a lot of it & without people writing his songs he wouldn’t have an album.
Move on.
As a few have pointed out, the most vocal negative ones on this thread are people with Liam/Oasis profile pics. Come on guys get a grip, end of day no matter how bad you may think it is, it’s better than I Get By : )
Cheer up Liam fans.

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05jg41h'There's too much joy in that single for this world. It's so catchy it's unbelievable. If it was released in the 90's, it'd have been huge' 'There's Mot The Hoople, Roxy Music - it's very 70s' (it's a bit of an extended (pre-recorded) interview)

I don't mean to come off sounding jerky but I'm not particularly eager to hear the Barat album either and, in the case of Tighe, a lot can change in 23 years.

honestly, whoever believes, that this is shite, and at the same time believes, that liam's album is a 7, 8, 9 or 10/10, is a bloody retard. at least noel's single has a bit of an interesting vibe to it and not the same, boring old bullshit, that we've been getting for the last 15 years. I like AYW, but people who think it's 8,9,10/10 are kinda strange. DM is 10/10!

I still can't believe people can get so aggressive because of a song. A song, FFS.
I've read some quite deranged replies in this thread. Keep it clean please.

That album wasn't good but at least he worked with people I like so he's OK in my book.

I wanted Liam to come back strong and he very-much has. He's good at what he does - straight up rock n roll and being a bloody brilliant frontman - still the best around imo. But, Noel is in a different place. And I'm glad we've now got As You Were and Noel's new, completely different stuff. It strikes a good balance. But, with both albums coming out within months of each other, it was always going to be this way.

The Barat solo album is indeed a disaster. But his record (which he wrote alone) with the Jackals is perfect. Great Rock n Roll record.

He won't see the vast majority of the nonsense getting thrown about. Wouldn't be so sure about that, he got kids, he got a wife, he got a PR machine behind him and all (just like Noel) are active on social media. I would be surprised if he was not interested at all in the reactions and opinions be people out there to his first song, he very much values the No. 1 album spot in the UK, he definitely does care (or at least read/listen) to opinions on his tracks out there.

Definitely. But the album is done at this point. Not much he can do. I really don't think Holy Mountain will sound like much of the other stuff anyway.

If Kurstin had been the record's producer, that would be another story. I'm talking about the difference between The Beatles being produced by George Martin and The Beatles doing songs like "How Do You Do It" to score a #1. There's an undeniable difference there.

You guys write too much I've wasted my lunch break reading half of the pages you've written in the last 15 hours. Better get used to that. I've heard there's an album in November.

I'm not bashing either brother but my profile pic is an Oasis logo - because that's the default if you don't manually assign one. Perhaps the negative ones are also in the same boat?
