Honestly I’m at work. Haven’t been able to listen. Saw the thread jump like 11 pages in a hour. Figured something big happened. I hope that link survives for a few more hours so I can listen when I get home.

I do pop and all genres as long as the music is good. I can tell you right now this is not a good pop song. It just sounds like an unfinished demo by Ricky Martin Ugh stop with the Ricky Martin shit it sounds nothing like him. Cognitive dissonance is powerful

I get the She Must Be One Of Us comparison as well. It has that plodding style from Noel's 2010 demos, it sounds like some leftover from that session with muffled sound and questionable production. I am too harsh maybe, but that's my impression on first listens.

“C’mon, C’mon, let’s work together.”
Same old promises, same old disappointment. Same old weary Xmas tree, different tinsel. No wonder he got all those pre-orders and ticket sales in before allowing any of this to be heard. Does he even care anymore?
Strangest reinvention since we lost Frank Maloney and Kelly Maloney entered the world.
This is FUCKING SHITE.

The first few seconds sounds like Death from Above to me.

I'm not sure I managed to convey what I mean, not being a native. I mean this song drags on a bit and it lacks colour, I find it repetitive.

So, Holy Mountain is the refrain from she bangs, the horns from got to get you into my Life and the backing vocals from back In the ussr. But what's exactly the sample? I only have heard the 90 second preview

Seriously, if people think that this is a "strange reinvention" or even a reinvention at all, please listen to Sprit of Eden, Bitches Brew, Kid A, or Yeezus, and get back to me.

I don't think I've ever really called any song "shit" or "shite." Maybe, once. But I tend to refrain from that. Artists work hard on their music. They pour a lot into it. Their art can be incredibly personal sometimes.
It's always seemed a bit much to call anyone's work or effort "shit" or "shite," especially if they're someone like Noel who is actually singing over his own music and lyrics.
Maybe that's coming from a songwriter's perspective, but there's such a thing as constructive criticism.

I bet if Noel released DGSS as his third album it wouldn't get nearly as much hate as Holy Mountain is taking from some....

Dear Noel, your new song is ok, I like that you're having some fun. But please refrain from creating something like this in the future. God bless.

On Twitter there are an unusually high amount of posts in Spanish talking about this song. The Ricky Martin fan base perhaps?

What we need now is Noel doing a cover of Livin' la Vida Loca. Right Manualex?

It's still in my head. And I'm itching to listen again. It's a good sign for me.
Giving it a final listen and sleeping on it. I think my initial reaction was shock. Though, I still wish the vocal take was clearer. But maybe that's just the file quality as everything seems a bit fuzzy.

Hmmmm after hearing this I had the same reaction to Hear of the moment good, but not great. The flutes, horns and backing vocals are nice enough.
Of his first singles this would be in between the other two, at least he tried something new this time around.
Death of u & me Holy Mountain Heat of the moment
In my opinión it needed some countermelody between the verses and chorus in the instrumental parts, when it arrived un the middle 8 it was too little to late for me. A 6/10, looking foward to Fort Knox, it's a beautiful world and the other one.
In the start it sounds like Kasabian's God Bless this acid house and in other like the breakdown of Where did all the love go? Right before the acoustic guitar kicks in that one.

I bet Noel is reading this thread and having a good laugh about people's reactions.
