During the interview was there a mention of a first play? Or what it will be?

Wow, I came into this forum looking for this question.
But I guess the answer is no. A lot of people are still betting on a friday launch, and I guess its a possibility, but no word whatsoever on it....

I can't imagine it'll be 3 weeks until we hear this on the 13th. It has to be this Friday.

There was no mention of a single play. Shawn Keaveney even joked about it possibly being on Lamaq first, and even then, it wasn't defined when that was.
In reality- the interviews were a bit strange. Listening to both the Absolute and 6 Music ones- Noel doesn't give any information about the record at all, no mention of any tracks, not event the title, or the date. The info was contained in the wrap arounds that went out on the morning.
So, maybe the potential title change (we had "Album" and "Neverland" in the running too) were still undecided, and the pre-records were done in case promo was going to happen when Noel was back on tour with U2 again.

Apparently some bits about the album are coming to light... Noel said Black and White Sunshine is one of the best he ever done (seriously) and how David Holmes pushed him to keep re-writing the chorus to The Man Who Built The Moon. Nothing about the single though

Is there a clip of the absolute radio interview I'm missing?

Just about every interview broadcasted yesterday was a pre-recorded. That's probably why we didn't get any info about a single release date.
I would still suspect that we'll get something Friday, with an announcement either tomorrow or Thursday.

I have a sneaky feeling we won't see anything single wise until mid-October If there was a single coming out this week, I'm pretty sure they'd have advertised it...

I would expect Noel's team to tease the Friday release on Instagram and twitter as soon as today. Definitely tomorrow. Doesn't take long for the news to catch fire. Within minutes it'll be all over the place. NME ready to pounce.

I think it's a smart move to only announce the album, put out upcoming tour dates, do the PR and promotional jargon and such. Because, if all they did was announce a new single, I imagine we'll all be wondering, "is there even a new album?". I think Noel learned from CY that when he announced 'In the Heat of the Moment' or rather, gave us a teaser of it on his Facebook page, we all jumped onto the idea and hounded him saying, "where's the new album??". Then he had to do that Facebook Live thing in order to set the record straight somewhat.
It's smart. It's a very healthy thing to announce something and not give a full track out just yet. It leaves us building up to the excitement. I'm guessing the anticipation is killing some of you. Well, guess what? That's exactly what they want for us.
The anticipation is killing me as well, LOL.

Exactly lol But you know, it was in fact like that when Chasing Yesterday wasn't announced at first. Was just stating what it was like around idiots when CY wasn't yet announced after In The Heat of the Moment haha
