the chatter between set and encore is indeed elongated RTE clip- mercifully chopped off for the album. i thought it was totally awkward. did not work for show. people were confused and it killed momentum- tho it certainly did quiet the crowd so less of a raucous transition into Dead in the Water at encore. i didn't think acoustics/sound was the best either- and i was in orchestra back. set list was interesting- the pacing/structure of it... obviously there is a lot of solo materiel- which was well-received- but when he kicks into the Oasis stuff that's where the show really took off for the crowd- and him, i believe. by Wonderwall he had them feeding out of his hand. the first half of the show felt like caberet at points in terms of the song selection. YSEE is amazing- as is Jess Greenfield...and well, scissors were played to the utmost of Charlotte's ability. Sharrock could have been louder- missed some of Stacey's power for the older solo stuff. Russell always spot on. Gem lagged a little i thought- but sparkled in last quarter of show. As for Noel - his voice was great! can't hit the falsetto as much anymore. but man was he belting it out. He seemed more into it- more energized and at ease with the crowd- than I've seen him at past solo shows. happier. it was a great night- and solidified fandom for my 19 yr old daughter. she is still on cloud 9 today

well I've said before I'd skip this tour based on the album. But Noel's turning me to buy a ticket based on these cool youtube clips. Go Let It Out sounds amazing with those female backings. And this girl singing beside him during Be Careful What You Wish For. It's something different the song surprised the shit out of me live. one of best of the night. played with incredible groove. trippy!

Philadelphia was awesome - VIP package was worth it. Gig had a great dark groovy feel. I enjoyed the audio banter before DitW though most of the crowd seemed lost. Bring on NYC and Boston.

Based on watching the live recordings of several of these US gigs, seems like Fort Knox is an amazing show opener which could carry on into future tours and Dead in the Water is amazing. But are any of the other WBTM songs which could stand the test of time in the live arena? I'm not sure any other WBTM tracks will be played live in years to come. I think the album is great but the ones he's tried so far aren't as good live as the rest of Noel's back catalogue. I think it's very telling that Noel said in an interview he'd love to play the majority of the album on tour yet only a handful of tracks made the final setlist. Seems like they may not lend themselves to a live setting.

It was pretty much the entire album minus 2 songs.(I never count stuff like the wednesday songs as tracks... more like intros or preludes.)

Anyone going to the Indy show? Check in beforehand, buy you a brew! Just saw this. Indy can't get here soon enough! Counting down the days. A meet up of fans would be really cool. Especially if Noel makes an appearance outside of the theatre around the soundcheck Any idea when soundcheck takes place usually? Not sure I’ll be in town by then, but curious to know...

Eight songs of the 21 are from the new album, and hopefully he gets TMWBTM into the set soon.

When I first met Noel, he came out about 2 hours before the show started. This was in Nashville in 2016. So I'm gonna try to get there between 2 and 3 hours early, try to figure out where he may come from, and park myself and my vinyl to hopefully get another autograph!

Shit. I was hoping more towards 9 pm. It takes forever to clear security. you know NYC- it may well be closer to 9 in the city that never sleeps- everything runs later. in past shows he has always been very prompt- but people were still filing in after 8:15p. show ended about 10:10? pretty long by Noel solo standards- at least compared to the days when he didn't have as much solo material to play.

At the Ryman, there's a side street with a gated door on it that says "Ryman Auditorium" above it, and that's where everyone lined up at in 2016 and where Noel appeared from. I wish you good luck in meeting the Chief!

Good gig at Radio City last night - bit of a lull towards the middle of the set which you could feel in the crowd which was way up for Fort Know/Holy Mountain, picked up with the one two punch of Little By Little & TIOBI which were both massive sing alongs. GLIO seemed to confuse some newbies but I felt it went over live better than what I've seen online and DLBIA (again, massive sing along) & AYNIL were a great set closer drive.google.com/file/d/1OObaJ1P_0CyDOIE1Fn-UXfygVbxy7FFo/view?usp=sharing

Fairly easy and orderly filing in to radio city, we queued up around 7:30 outside, inside by 7:50 in our seats, cocktails in hand. Noel hit the stage by 8:15

At venues where you can get near the back door he soundchecks around 4 pm but you should arrive at 3 pm and wait. Barring a football game he’ll arrive sometime in there However sometimes he plays venues with complex “load in” areas - those venues are impossible to do the signing and he doesn’t come find you (can’t blame him).

Cool snowstorm for the Boston area tonight. Well guess I won't be seeing him this time around.
