I’m getting an artsy vibe from the cover similar to funeral and viva la vida. Guessing for an art rock sound like af and coldplay

I think we're all going to have a lot to thank David Holmes for. There's other producers who could have done great things with his already written songs, but actually getting him to change experiment with how he writes and pushing him out of his comfort zone? Not many could do that.
Yes, with the obvious caveat that it remains to be seen just what effect on his songs this change has had, but I really think Noel needed someone to give him a kick or he'd have spent the rest of his life churning out variations on the same theme over and over, and I'm quite sure he's better than that.

Can anyone guess how much time did it take for Oasismania to repost the cover art & info from this thread without saying thanks or mentioning the forum as the source? The answer is: fifteen minutes or less STOP. FOLLOWING. OASISMANIA.

Strong psychedelic vibes from the cover. Hopefully this album will fill the void left with the AA debacle. Yup, but better. I think the trouble with those guys it was the right idea, because Noel have obviously been desperate to make this kind of music for years ever since SOTSOG, but with the wrong people. I don't think AA were the right match for Noel, I don't see their styles as being complementary.

I suddenly lost all interest in as you were... Indeed, and I suspect that Noel knows exactly what he's doing. Let Liam have his moment and then blow it away completely. We can though probably thank Liam's comeback for giving Noel a bit more motivation to do something special as he knows the comparison will be made and knows Liam's album will be meat and potatoes, and he will want the difference to be night and day.

Nah, surely he can't be that petty. He's probably more concerned with selling enough copies and therefore had to release the album before Christmas, even though it looks like the tour proper won't start until 2018, according to the website ("2018 Tour Tickets On Sale 29.11.17").

Agreed, competition always led to more quality music. Liam's record will be like a good afternoon on a road trip on a busy highway, but Noel's looks like it's gonna be like travelling through Monument Valley during a mystic trip to finding your soul. the cover is already good and Noel never made a bad record with a good cover. So here's hoping.

Every inch of space in your head is filled up with the things that you read. It seems that Noel has lifted Paul Weller's idea of writing an optimistic tune to counter all the awful shit we read in the news. Anyway, that's a good line.

You're talking utter bollocks, mate. I said it will have given Noel a bit more motivation, not that it inspired the whole album. Liam's comeback was public September 2016, who knows how long before Noel knew about it. Noel had plenty left to do on his album back then (remember all the stuff about only 5 songs done), so I'm sure in the back of his mind it spurred him on to do the best he could. Hardly a ridiculous idea. We all thrive on competition, it's a good thing Noel has this now, he hasn't really had anything to 'beat' thus far.
