Went down another rabbit hole today... below are the number of views (in millions). Oasis has two Youtube channels, so I combined them for easier understanding. Divided into groups of 10,10,12. I do find it odd that some videos are missing from one channel but never both. There are also some interesting disparities between channels. Most notably, Let There Be Love and Whatever. The top 10 videos account for 75% of all views. Wonderwall = 30.7% and Don't Look Back In Anger = 12.1%. Anywho... enjoy. This thread is for informational purposes only. All data is correct as of 19 September 2017 at 6pm GMT.Song | Vevo | Oasis | Total | Oasis Total Views ----- "Wonderwall" "Don't Look Back in Anger" "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" "Stand by Me" "Supersonic" "Champagne Supernova" "Don't Go Away" "Live Forever" "Whatever" ----- "Little by Little" "Morning Glory" "Some Might Say" "Cigarettes & Alcohol" "Let There Be Love" "All Around the World" "The Importance of Being Idle" "D'You Know What I Mean?" "The Masterplan" "Songbird" ----- "I'm Outta Time" "The Shock of the Lightning" "Falling Down" "Go Let It Out" "Lyla" "Roll with It" "Acquiesce" "Sunday Morning Call" "Shakermaker" "The Hindu Times" ----- "Who Feels Love?" "Where Did It All Go Wrong?" "Lord Don't Slow Me Down"

Yes... that data is pulling every single video that counts towards Oasis for ad revenue... so covers, instrumentals, live takes, etc. That is counting EVERY single instance of the tracks in question. I was pulling just the official music videos numbers.

actually it is 31.257.184 This must be region restricted. Because I can't play it, and it doesn't come up when I search. I'll update the numbers though. Perhaps, Falling Down, The Importance of Being Idle, and C&A are having the same issue?

Seems weird to restrict certain videos like that. I updated the original chart as well.

What's the explanation for Stand By Me having so many views. I love the song, but considering it's not as ubiquitous as other songs like Champagne Supernova or Live Forever, it's a surprise to see it have so many views.
Or maybe it has a hidden ubiquity and is massively popular and the radio stations just haven't picked up on it?

Here in Greece, the only Oasis songs that the radio stations play are Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Stand by Me. And very rarely Whatever, Live Forever and She's Electric.

Don't Go Away has 31million views bro 26 million of those views are just a combination of Rolo and Liamgallagher1992 so do these figures from YT really show us if Oasis are still huge?!

YouTube views are for Taylor Swift, and wankers mate. You say that only because your favorite artist isn't top dog here. ----- In other news, if Youtube was around from 94-97, then Oasis numbers would look like Coldplay. They currently have 19 songs with over 100 million views!

If you're lucky enough to catch an Oasis song on the radio it's either Wonderwall or Stand by Me. It's definitely more popular than DLBIA, Live Forever or Champagne Supernova down here, I've never been able to understand why but that's the way it is.

Virgin Radio for instance always plays these two. DLBIA, I'm Outta Time and All Around the World get a considerable amount of airplay from that radio station too.

In Canada you mainly hear the usuals (wonderwall, DLBIA, CS) and sometimes Dont go away and Dyou know what i mean, never stand by me though. As for YT views... I remember a few years back before the big official or vevo channels there was a wonderwall video that had 75 million views and a CS that had about 8 million views that got deleted.

If you look at all the "big" rock acts from the 90's Oasis fairs better than most of them in our modern Youtube world. Maybe I'll find time later to pull these numbers.

I checked that youtube insights thingy only for the 20 days. (random bands that I thought of in the last 5 minutes) Oasis - 38m RHCP - 95m Nirvana - 57m Pearl Jam - 32m The Smashing Pumpkins - 8m Green Day - 61m Blur - 7m REM - 23m RATM - 19m GNR - 95m U2 - 35m The Offspring - 20m Depeche Mode - 56m The Verve - 10m The only really surprising thing is U2. Others are kinda expected

Alright... views are in millions again and run for the past 3 years. Anything over 1000 is a billion. I believe all of these bands released at minimum two albums in the 90's. Do with this what you will... Band | Views | Metallica Guns n Roses Red Hot Chili Peppers Nirvana Green Day U2 Oasis Foo Fighters The Offspring ----- Pearl Jam Radiohead Blink-182 The Cranberries R.E.M. Rage Against The Machine No Doubt Alice In Chains Goo Goo Dolls Nine Inch Nails ----- The Verve Sublime Weezer Blur Smashing Pumpkins Stone Temple Pilots Matchbox Twenty Soundgarden Counting Crows Live ----- Bush Third Eye Blind Collective Soul Hanson Soul Asylum Hootie & The Blowfish
| 4669 3610 3270 2559 2408 1582 1268 1208 1205 ----- 1127 1125 1048 1014 840 687 591 562 534 474 ----- 446 401 376 334 314 308 274 214 205 128 ----- 105 102 101 101 84 45

I thought The Cure would on that list. Great band... I consider them an 80's band though seeing as they released 7 albums in the 80's and only two in the 90's. I guess you could argue the same thing for U2 actually. That said, over the same span of time they come in at 666 million. Solid. ----- Looking over the top 10 bands... they are all quite unique in their styles of music. Singular even.

Just imagine if the internet that we know today existed in 1996. How fucking massive would Oasis have been?
And, moreover, would they have made America with that universal exposure?
How much bigger would they have been with the internet?
