The ITHOTM audio was made available on Noel's YT channel October the 10th, 2014. The ITHOTM video was released 10 days later in the Noisey channel. |

Still don't know if this album will be under the "High Flying Birds" moniker. There could be more video shots of the band, but so far, it's only Noel.

My expectations for Noel's upcoming album are crazy high. Higher than is healthy. I keep thinking that it'll be something that catapults Noel into whole new territory. Something that's a venture onto the untread ground we'd all been hoping he'd explore ever since SOTSOG aimed for new horizons but failed miserably. Something that wouldn't have been possible in Oasis. Something that'll rescue his artistic credibility. Something that'll make people think "am I really listening to Noel Gallagher?!" Something that'll be a big fuck you to everyone who accuses him of being a backwards luddite. Something that not only shoves it in the faces of those pretentious naysayers but does it with swagger and arrogance not seen in NG's songs since DYKWIM and The Fame. Something so amazing that it leaves behind Liam's frankly impressive showing behind in the dust.
But instead it'll probably be an album of ITHOTM's with a flashier sheen. Complete with nanana's. We'll see.

We'll see. Can't it be both ITHOTM and the above?  I honestly don't believe it's going to be amazingly far out there. I think there'll be more experimentation, but nothing like AA or something. What I am hoping for is that the lyrics are better, that the production is modern, and that there's more variation in terms of the pace of songs (that is less reliance on midtempo tracks). So far, from the David Holmes interview we know that it'll be more uptempo tracks, which will automatically make this album vastly different from HFB's and CY. And with Holmes on board, I expect pretty good production value, which will make it better than HFBs. The only thing I'm worried about are the lyrics. For me, that's always been the difference between a good Noel track and a fantastic one. If I get the above then I'll be happy because that'll mean that the overall quality will be higher. |

Dead excited for this one. Can't wait.
Regarding production values, I'm expecting this to be the best sounding Gallagher release since Shoulder of Giants. And the songwriting behind this album fascinates me - it's all new for Noel, so will be interesting to see if this has reinvigorated the creative process for him.
